My kitchenaid 7cup new food processor will not work. There is no light that comes on. Help!

Brand new, take it back where you got it from then, no point fiddling about endangering your guarantee.

Light comes on but won't pulse or turn "on."

The Kitchenaid food processors have a few safety features implimented. If the unit is not assembled properly, this may prevent the unit from turning on. I am thinking this is an issue of assembly because the light is on, so the unit is definitely getting power.

Proper assembly is below:

If it isn't all ready, please disassemble the entire unit. This means removing the blade and/or disc, blade, removing work bowl, work bowl lid, and blade.

Start by placing the work bowl onto the motor base. The work bowl handle should be facing at 9 o'clock, which is out to your left. Rotate the handle downward until it locks in at the 6 o'clock position, which will lock over the center of the button panel.

Repeat the process with the work bowl lid. The blade does not need to be present for the motor to engage, if this is an assembly issue.

Light is on but blade will not turn

You have a bad sensor switch, when you put the bowl. Locate the sensor switch and replace it.

Power is available (light is one) but nothing

Sounds like a safety feature working. Unplug. Take apart as if you are going to clean it. Check all parts carefully to see if there is anything broken, like a nub.(Are all parts there?) Put back together, making sure they are fully engaged. Plug in and try. This happened to my food processor and it was a bit of dried food stuck in the bowls sliding track that kept it from clicking fully connected. Hope this helps!

Food processor does not work but light is on

Put the work bowl, lid, and pusher on one piece at a time - handle of work bowl faces the front of the food processor, hollow feed tube faces the back, and the sliding lock switch on pusher sleeve faces the front. Should turn on.

If it doesn't, test the motor - remove the work bowl and other parts completely. Plug the base in and turn it on, and use a pen to push in the dark grey or black button on top of the base - if it spins, the motor is still good - you may just need a replacement part. If it doesn't make a sound, it needs to be sent in to Cuisinart for repair.

Light comes on. does not process

My wife just bought one. When I set it up I put the lid on 180 degrees rotated from the proper position. It lock and looked fine but would not work. Is it possible you are doing the same thing?
