SOURCE: does not print error b200

Helo, found on web. Good Luck :0)

The error code is standard for many of the late model MPxxx printers. The B200 error is "Printhead Temperature exceeded", What this means that while you were printing some document, either one or more of the printhead ink wells ran out of ink and the printing continued. Printhing without ink in the wells will OVERHEAT THE PRINTHEAD NOZZLES and can potentially burn the out. The printer has a built in temperature sensor to detect the ambient temperature and to monitor the temperature of the head. This data is always collected and monitored and saved in the EEprom data and the Service Test print data.

If the error will not go away once you have unplugged the priner for at least 5 minutes, then there is the possibility that you have already burnt out the head. Remove the printhead and use a 5x magnification glass to look VERY CLOSE at all of the nozzles to see if you can detect any possible burnt out nozzle.

It many come down to need a new printhead.

SOURCE: Error Code B200

Try keeping the paper only in the bottom tray (there's a tray in the bottom) Try pulling any paper out of the top and just close that top tray. Open up the head so that u can see the ink cartridges and turn the printer on and off and maybe it will center itself again. If it's still not working (even if lights aren't red and print head wont align in the center) try manually moving the head back and forth like 18 times so you can lubricate that rail in the back that's holding it. After that, re-turn it off and on again.

SOURCE: What is service error B200?

Throw the piece of **** out the window. If a product has a terminal error after only being used a few dozen times inside of a climate and dust controlled home, then there is a huge problem with the design to begin with. Further proof would be provided in the fact that almost 100k people have viewed potential fixes on this website alone for only this error message and model. Nice work Cannon, my hat is off to you.

WHAT TO DO WHEN I HAVE AN ERROR CODE B200. i CANNOT PRINT AS THE MESSAGE IS CONTACT YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER. IS THERE A WAY I CAN FIX IT MYSELF////

Hi Kathleen,

to clear the Canon B200 error code:

Steps for 4+ Cartridge Printers
  1. Remove All Cartridges. Do whatever is necessary to remove the individual ink cartridges from your printer. In most cases this will be opening the lid of your printer and waiting for the cartridge cradle to move into the correct position.
  2. Remove the Printhead. This is easily achieved in most printers by simply lifting the orange/gray locking lever on the side of the cartridge cradle and then gently lifting the printhead from the printer.
  3. Reinstall the Printhead. Gently put the printhead back into your Canon Pixma printer and lock it into position firmly.
  4. Reinstall All Cartridges. Place all of the cartridges back into the printer and close any open doors. This makes sure that your printer is actively examining the reinstalled cartridges and printhead.
  5. Unplug the Printer. Physically remove your printers plug from the wall and leave it unplugged for 5+ minutes. This allows the printhead to cool and all residual electricity to leave the printer.
  6. Plug the Printer Back.
  7. Do a Nozzle Check or Cleaning Cycle. The B200 error does not tend to occur until your printer actively tries to use the printhead. As such I recommend performing one of these processes in an attempt to confirm the correct cartridge has been replaced.
Steps for 2 Cartridge Printers
  1. Turn the Printer off. When your printer is in this error state it will not let the cartridge cradle within the printer move. However resetting the printer should clear the error message temporarily allowing us to troubleshoot further.
  2. Turn the Printer Back on Again.
  3. Remove the Problem Cartridge. Whilst the Canon Pixma error messages do not tend to specify which cartridge is causing the problem, you should be able to have a rough idea based upon which cartridge was last replaced.
  4. Install a Replacement Cartridge. As the printhead is part of the cartridge, sadly there is no way to stop the B200 error without replacing the cartridge. I would recommend either installing a new cartridge or a previously used cartridge that you know to be functional.
  5. Do a Nozzle Check or Cleaning Cycle. The B200 error does not tend to occur until your printer actively tries to use the printhead. As such I recommend performing one of these processes in an attempt to confirm the correct cartridge has been replaced.
  6. If Necessary Replace the Other Cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, it may be that the other cartridge has developed a fault and is the cause of the B200 support code. If at this point the error remians I can only recommend replacing the other cartridge.

How to remove cartridges when no power

The printer needs power to remove the cartridges. There is an assembly that moves and locks the cartridges and covers the ink nozzles to prevent the ink from drying out. Without power this assembly is locked in place and will not release.
