I just tried to update City Navigator to my 2620, went thru process, not get error message insufficent space on unit, did test and get error map storage error. Also unit when turn on now in loop, can't read any maps. Any way of getting out of loop, tried master reset etc. May need to delete maps, but can't get to menu.

It is possible that problem may have been created because of the
way Map subscriptions work. I'll verify but my latest theory is that
you may have to unlock every update not just the map set. I have 4
Garmin GPS units, all 4 units use the same map sets (City Navigator -
North America), and I have 4 City Navigator Unlock Codes. Plus I have 2
City Navigator Map Subscriptions that provide quarterly updates.
Keeping track of Update Codes is a PIA.It is possible that each quarterly update also needs to go
through the Unlock process. Apparently MapInstall doesn't do that
automatically. Here are Garmin Instructions on How to unlock Garmin maps. If I am reading correctly, You have to manually add the update code to MapInstall every time you get a Quarterly Update.
This could have been done in a much more User Friendly Way!!!
It is more than a little disheartening to call Garmin Tech Support
because the standard greeting seems to be "your expected wait will be
over 30 minutes". That would send me to web site but I had already been
there and saw no information to help with the "Maps Can't Unlock"
error that was driving me crazy
Yes. There is one more mapset and then there will be no more for us using the StreetPilot 2620. You are looking for the disc set North American Navigator 2009. Make sure you do not purchase the NT version. I found the item on EBAY for $81and purchased it and it worked just fine. The 2009 is the last compatible map set that Garmin released for the 2620. Be certain that what you purchase includes that unlock key otherwise you will spend another $75 on that at the Garmin Unlock Site.
Here is the link that is good for a few more days, however, may relist it. The seller is yumelectronics and the search term is 2009 City Navigator.
The on board memory in your Nuvi 200 may not have enough free space to hold the map. You may be able to free up some space by deleting maps or language packs that you don't use. (Be careful to back up any files you are going to delete.) Or you can add an optional SD memory card to the unit to increase the storage capacity on the GPS.
You cant... Garmin sucks at support for doing stuff like this. They want you to buy a new one instead, only to find out its obsolete in a few years and then your new one is not supported in lets say in the year 2010.
That is why the Flash model 2010 and 2050 were more popular. Gave users more options and less moving parts for there unit to break.
"I tried to load the new 2008 City Navigator but the update was interrupted."
You deleted your previous maps, therefore there are no maps on the unit. Try reloading the maps again and this time let it continue all the way to the end. It will take a couple of hours depending on loading all maps or only certain states.
In February I posted that I will replace the cornice drive on my 2620 because I had this problem Well I did that, but could not fix the problem. Garmin is asking $275 to replace my unit, I did not wanted to pay them that much. So I bought a 2610 at eBay for a $100 and don't have to worry about hard drives any longer. To get this screen on a GPS push "menu+find" and then turn on unit. It will show this diagnostic screen.
