I started this snowblower in the summer and it worked fine...both winters I've tried to use it it won't start. The first year I had it it worked very well.

So you are saying it wont run in the cold. Will it run if you left it in the house until you wanted to use it?
Are you going thru the procedure of Choking the engine ? Is there a Primer Bulb that you have to push on this machine?
I'm just saying that engines don't like the cold to begin with, just make sure you are going thru the 'Cold Start' procedure properly.

My snowblower won't start

the carb is probably clogged up. Sounds like you are fairly handy... carefully remove it, keeping track of how it comes off so you can put it back on.

Soak it good in degreaser to disolve the gas deposits.
Then rinse it good with carb cleaner.
Then re-install it

I've had to do this to my line trimmer and my snowblower in recent years.

Poulan snowblower won't start; it backfires and sometimes starts but only lasts a few minutes if lucky; I've replaced spark plug and gas.....no luck

Gotta take the Bowl off the carburetor and see if the Jet is Plugged up.
Today's Ethanol gas ills carburetors. New gas wont help a gummed up carb from leftover old gas.

2002 Trail Blazer Running really rough and flashing service light. Went to an auto store and they told me that the code reader stated I have a misfire, a timing issue and something with the thermostat...Im...

Posting the specific codes that the auto store pulled for you would help a lot. the codes will start with the letter "P" and be followed by four numbers, example P0304.

I'm guessing one of the codes was P0128. This would be an engine temp below closed loop operation. This is almost always fixed by replacing the thermostat. If you live in a "winter" area you will start to notice that the heater is not putting out enough heat when it gets cold. This can also increase fuel consumption as you need more fuel to run a colder engine.

As far as the running rough and "timing" issue (I assume you have the 4.2 liter straight 6) I'm going to bet that they are related. Cam actuator solenoids are fairly common on these. The trouble codes would help to reinforce this.

The snowblower starts great, but then it will not shut off. have to snowblow my neighbors, waiting for it to run out of gas

Try lowering the choke all the way below Turtle Speed. With any luck this will shut the snowblower off.

I have 91 honda accord the engine has 225.000 miles. it has a lot of trouble turning on in the morning. once it turns on the car runs great but if i turn it off for a while after the same thing happens....

I believe it may have a 5th fuel injector in the intake plenum called cold start injector. If it's clogged up it's not getting the extra fuel it needs to start when it's cold. I'm not completely sure on that car but it's a start

I have a troy built snowblower that has sat for 7 years.

hi roaddoctor86; I suspect that your carb is the source of your problem in the fuel system. I always drain the fuel in my 2 cycle and even 4 cycle engines and then start them and run them dry, before I put them up for the winter/. I would suggest you drain the tank or at least take most of the gas out and then add a can of gas treatment/solvent and see if that helps. Something like Heet I think is one product.

Hope this helps good Luck Loriongh ps Please leave a rating if appropriate Thanks
