Question about Whirlpool Refrigerators
Whirlpool Fridge mod# et8wtkxkq0 We have had great service out of this fridge for years, but here lately, the left side crisper drawer keeps filling up with water. It also puts water under the crisper drawers and then eventually leaks on to the floor. I have done everything I know and followed all troubleshooting advice I could find. Can you please help. I am a disabled vet and just can't afford to get a repairman or buy another fridge... Thanks

Make sure the door is closing properly, that nothing is trapped in the door seal, and that the seal isn't torn or distorted. The seals are there to stop moist external air getting in then dropping its load of moisture as it cools. A.

SOURCE: Fridge filling with water
There usually is a drain at the back of the fridge it's possible that this is clogged, This drain leads to an evaporation tray usually in the base of the fridge.

the defrost drain in the freezer is clogged with ice.
empty the food from the freezer, and put through a defrost. you might have to help the fridge defrost with a hair dryer. you may also have to remove the rear panel (inside the freezer) or pending on the model to bottom panel of the freezer.. (usually held in by 1/4" hex screws.)
melt all the ice, and be sure that the drain is clear, and it should work.

There is most likely a plugged drain in the freezer section. The easist solution can be to empty the refrigerator and unplug it over night. If this is not possible then the back or bottom should be removed to allow access to the drain and a hair dryer can be used to make defrosting go faster. still takes a while, if there is access in the back of the unit that can be the cause of the plug.
