Question about HP PhotoSmart C4345 AllInOne InkJet Printer

HP PhotoSmart scans, copies, won't print. Computer indicates "open door" even though printer display does not.

After repairing the printer for a power-connection problem, it at first would not work because the printer display said "open door," even though the door was not open. Fixed the problem and the "open door" went away. But now, though it copies and scans, when I try to print a document, my computer screen shows an "open door" indication (even though the printer display does not) and won't print.

Try to uninstall and reinstall the program files see if that fixes it

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING DISCONNECT OVEN FROM POWER. I do NOT recommend doing repair by yourself, if you NOT are really very familiar with electric repair, or have at least basic training in electric device repair and maintenance.

Obviously, by opening door, oven gets disconnected form power line.
This is mostly caused by loose connections on wiring socket, and can be anywhere inside. Check security micro switch on door latch. This switch normally disables only running the oven when door is open, for security reasons. In your case, it seems that opening door disconnects oven from input power. Sometimes the switch is loose, or wires are not firmly pushed in the socket. If the power line wiring is loose, and by opening door looses contact with socket, it can touch metal housing inside, cause short, electric shock, serious even mortal injury and fire. This is dangerous high voltage switch, and to access it one must open oven from the back and take off the cover. I do not recommend doing it by your self.
Rem: Replacement micro switch is couple dollars.

this sounds more like the door lock motor for this door is bad or has a bad connection and requires repair or replacement.

HP PhotoSmart computer indicates "open door"
Open "Devices and Printers" in start menu.
Right click printer with green arrow - click see whats printing.
Delete all documents.
Restart computer - then restart printer
See if that clears your error messages.

Samsung clp 320 'door open' problem
If the printer was just powered up and immediately gave the door open error, look for a paper jam. When this happened to me, that was the problem, even though it was saying that the problem was an open door.

There is a switch that should "close" when the door closes.
But, that switch either is damaged, or it is not sending the "now closed" signal to the printer.

Check that there is no obstruction blocking that switch, nor any dust plugging it up.

You may try the following to resolve the issue,

  • Open, and then close the cartridge door of the product. Make sure that the door rests securely against the body of the product.
  • Check if the error message still displays. If it does continue with next step.
  • Inspect the cartridge door and the area around it to make sure that no obstructions prevent the door from closing completely.
  • Check if the error message still displays. If it does continue with next step.
  • Press the Power button to turn ON the printer.
  • Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
  • Reconnect the USB cable to the printer.
  • Check if the error message still displays.
  • If the error is still there you need to send it for repair, as the sensor for the door might have gone bad.

The message 'Door is open' is displayed even though all doors are closed.
I will suggest you try reset the printer, follow the instruction below to reset your printer, if the problem still persist, replace the cable that connects the printer to the power outlet. If that did not still fix the problem, you will need to reinstall the driver of the printer, you can get it at HP web site.

1. Without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold ?# and 6? keys.
3. While holding those keys plug the power cord back in.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions.

If that did not fix the problem, try this,
  1. Unplug the power cable from printer while the printer is powered on.
  2. Press and hold OK and HELP buttons while plugging in the power cord. Wait for the screen to go black or blank before releasing the keys.
  3. Just turn on the printer and configure your printer new.

sounds like you got a bad door switch.... make sure the door switch is actually latching and the wires are still connected.... if all is good there then the pcb controller which is the main board is bad.....

This is power failure. No need to find out anything what is the problem of your printer. Just send it to anyone very near to you and repair your printer.
I have printer like this and the problem as the same of yours.
No power, no light or even initial to run the printer. My technician says that it's power supply defective due to high voltage electricity.
Or I'm sure also its fuse problem.

Door open message
The printer obviously 'thinks' the door is open How is that controlled I wonder- can you see a micro-switch for example- take look at the hinge is it all visible or does a 'tongue' disappear into the works somewhere to operate such a switch? A look at www.fixyourownprinter.com may give a clue
