Hotpoint fridge clicks before starting

You have a possible compressor relay going bad or something like low house power could cause that. Also the mother board could be going bad without seeing any problem. Electronic boards sometimes go bad without being able to actually see it. The compressor part of the board will sometimes burn a spot on the mother board but can only be see on the back solder side.

I HAVE A KITCHEN AID MODEL NUMBER KSRA25FKSS00 and it is not cooling

have you replaced the ptc overload/relay on the compressor,as this is the actual start and run component that the compressor needs or it wont start or run, remove it by unplugging it off the compressor and a good sign if its bad is it will sound loose like pieces loose inside the ptc unit, you should also replace the run capacitor connected to this component too

My GE GSL 25JFPABS Refrigerator failed yesterday. No Comressor no evap or condensor fan

Fan motor starts with the compressor. Sounds like you need a main board and condenser fan motor. Call GE. It might be covered under warranty. A known issue with certain models. You will also need serial # if you call.

We changed the mother board and the refridg is still not cooling. We hear a clicking sound on the relay next to the compressor. Can you help?

:
Hi!
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
It does a lot of clicking (trying to start over and over again)
If thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
I use part no ERP410 POWER START RELAY, CAPACITOR AND OVERLOAD all in one. (110 v)

GSS20IETA GE Refrig keeps frosting up every 20 days, Have replaced mother board defrost thermostat, Evaporator Fan Motor, and heat element. It still frost up

I would suspect the mother board even tho it is new because if it burned out to start with
and you didn't replace the part that blew it out then the mother board will do it again.
It could br the relay or the compressor or any number of elect problems
Here is a generic sampling of my ideas.
First I would remove the mother board and look for a burnt or black spot somewhere on either side of the board. I would change the defrost Thermostat again just for fun.(Some times they are bad)

Here is some help

My refregerator compressor will not run, fan blows but it's not cooling.

Hi sounds like a bad relay, listen to the compressor over a short period of time if you hear clicking and the compressor is warm/hot it's the relay. If the compressor is cold and has not been running then it's likely you have a bad defrost timer. This can either be mechanical or built into the mother board. Since you did not give a model number I can give you no more specific information then that. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Mike

1. GE is replacing many defective boards free of charge. Check with them to see if you are qualified.
2.The start relay should be closed when refrigerator is de-energized.
3. Still a possible bad compressor or compressor start components. Test performed by service tech on compressor is usually done with a starting test cord. Would answer many questions quickly.

Clicking noise approximately 1 second apart

That clicking noise is possibly your compressor overload kicking off because it cannot start the compressor. Most times the start relay or the start capacitor are defective. But because your refrigerator has a mother board located on the back and behind a panel. We need to consider the board is going out. Unplug the refrigerator and pull away from the wall. Remove the screws on the rear panel to expose the mother board. Need to look for burn marks on both sides or a signed that a relay has been over heating. The board is part number WR55X10656
