Use an external power supply for the restore drive, if it's from a USB key use a powered hub.

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop,
You need to use a computer that has Internet access to download and transfer the files to your computer.

SOURCE: USB port loose

Unfortunatley, there isn't an easy way to fix something that is physically broken. Your only options are:

1) Replace the motherboard of the laptop. (would need to be done by a professional, and may cost as much as a new laptop depending on the model)

2) Learn to deal with it. :)

Download Unetbootin on your windows machine and use it to load the recovery disk on to a usb drive. plug the usb into the AA1 and boot. While it's booting hit the f12 key this will bring up boot choices. Select the usb drive and away you go. And please remember to have it plugged in. Or ask around and borrow a portable CD-Rom. During boot you will see the screen ask you to select f12 to select a boot option.

My psd is disabled as i put in code too many i used a usb plug and hit i tunes but it did not disabled it what can i do to unlock it

I think you're talking of your ipad being disabled (psd=pad?).
If you happen to have a backup in itunes back from when you still knew your passcode you can restore your ipad to that backup. If not you have to revert your ipad to defaults and install all your apps from there again.

Dell inspiron mini screen says "bootmgr is missing

You need to reboot the computer using the disk you made from Windows Backup and Restore. Watch your boot screen and look for "boot opions or boot order (words to that effect).

If always super important to create a Windows Startup Disk/Repair disk as soon as you power on your computer and go through the initial setup.

The next most important task is to create recovery disks. The ultimate task for any laptop or desktop computer is to create a system image backup onto an External Hard Drive. Why? Whenever you get infected or experience a major problem you are copy the system image back to your main drive and everything is in the state it was when you made the backup.

Files should be backed up on regular basis and having an External Hard dDrive always plugged into a USB port makes this a very simple task.

How to back up ic power laptop

That's rather a vague question. However there are quick a few packages out there to backup complete systems.
Firstly there is Acronis True Image. This software can create an image or file backup over multiple discs or partitions from a windows environment or direct booting from CD. It supports SSD hard-drives, partitions hard-drives and more. Click on the below link for more information.
Backup software for data backup and disaster recovery in Windows and...

Another software package is Symantec System Recovery. This software does exactly some thing as the above mentioned package as well as check hard-drives for errors, network & system tools.

It sounds like the motherboard is causing the usb ports to malfunction by allowing power surges into the power input to the ports. You maybe should try a powered usb hub to power your hardware or you may face motherboard replacement

I have a Logitech cooling pad for my Dell 17" Studio laptop with 4 GB RAM and Vista Home Premium. It mysteriously stopped working. When I plug the cooling pad in other laptops, it works fine. I have...

Seems that your laptop's USB ports are not providing enough power to the cooling pad. This could be due to you connecting too many USB peripherals to your laptop. Test if you can get the cooling pad to work by disconnecting all other USB devices.
As a permanent fix, you can buy an active USB hub (one powered by external power source) & connect your cooling pad to it.

Hi i have a R32 think pad.... it cant support my external hard drive.. can i upgrade the hardware.. 1.1 to 2? cant i buy a 4 port usb.. 2.0 and plug that in will it work??

Your laptop has USB 1.1. It won't support anything running 2.0 because of power constrictions. 2,0 has a power line and 1.1 does not. as far as upgrading the hardware, the chipset is not designed for 2.0 so it will run a 4 port 2.0 as 1.1 because there is no provision for power (voltage). Hope this helps.

I had the same issue. Here's what I did. Not sure if it will work for you. But give it a try.
1) turn on the machine and press "F2" to go into set up.
2) Press alt-p seven times to go to the last page.
3)Press the down arrow to highlight HDD password. Set a password as instructed and reboot the machine.
4) You can remove this password later once your machine starts fine.

Even if you didn't get try this too.
