That is probably because the system thinks you wish to adjust something or back up/restore data and has disabled the power button. Remove the USB lead and it should shut down.

Tip

An operating system "OS" or "DOS"

Operating Systems Means, Tips & Tools.Microsoft Windows Server 2008 is the company's latest server operating system. Officially launched in February 2008, Windows Server 2008 is the successor to Microsoft's previous server OS, Windows Server 2003.
"The other is Disk Operating System, in a general sense, DOS refers to just about any operating system. More commonly, it describes the operating system Microsoft developed in 1981 for IBM's line of personal computers. Though syntactically distinct, DOS shares similarities with a Unix shell. It has a command-line interface and analogs to many common Unix commands. However, DOS is a 16-bit, single-user operating system that does not support multi-tasking. It is far easier to administer than Unix, but less powerful. Compared to graphical interfaces such as Windows and Mac OS X, it's also not particularly user-friendly."
An operating system sometimes abbreviated as "OS".Operating System is the program that being initially loaded into the computer by a boot program or manages all the other programs in a computer. The other programs are called applications or application programs. The application programs make use of the operating system by making requests for services through a defined application program interface (API). In addition, users can interact directly with the operating system through a user interface such as a command language or a graphical user interface (GUI).
An operating system performs these services for applications:
  1. In a multitasking operating system where multiple programs can be running at the same time, the operating system determines which applications should run in what order and how much time should be allowed for each application before giving another application a turn.
  2. It manages the sharing of internal memory among multiple applications.
  3. It handles input and output to and from attached hardware devices, such as hard disks, printers, and dial-up ports.
  4. It sends messages to each application or interactive user (or to a system operator) about the status of operation and any errors that may have occurred.
  5. It can offload the management of what are called batch jobs (for example, printing) so that the initiating application is freed from this work.
  6. On computers that can provide parallel processing, an operating system can manage how to divide the program so that it runs on more than one processor at a time.
All major computer platforms (hardware and software) require and sometimes include an operating system. Linux, Windows 2000, VMS, OS/400, AIX, and z/OS are all examples of operating systems.

How to hook up my tablet to my printer

    1. You can, however, access a printer from your Android tablet by installing a printing application. You can choose to install a printer app that is specific to your model of printer, like the HP ePrint app. You can select an app that will print directly to your device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, like the PrinterShare app.

I saw (as I was trying to get a mates tablet going) in Security--Interface security seven items that you may need to unlock to access different things. They included Lan, Wireless, HD Audio, USB interface ect., just a thought. Tap on each and unlock if they are locked. First time I have looked at the tablet and was operating on common sense with not computer skills. Good luck

How can i download books to my computer from my tablet?

If you have access to the Google Books application, as it seems you've got an Android Tablet according to the Galaxy Tablet reference, you can download books on your computer via the Google Books website (books.google.com), then you can download the Google Books Application from the Android Market (search 'Google Books') and login with your credentials and you can access your books you've downloaded!

*Make sure the Google Account you're using on your phone is the same one you're downloading and purchasing books with on your computer. You might want to attempt to download some of the "Free" books first to ensure that the transfer is working.

How do I DISCONNECT CAMERA FROM COMPUTER? SY TOMASHOFF stomashoff@sbcglobal.net

left click on the "safely remove hardware" icon (see attached image). Select your camera from the pop-up list (it may be listed as a drive). Wait a few seconds until computer says, "safe to remove hardware."

NOTE: if you have any applications open, e.g., photoshop, that are accessing files on your camera, the computer will indicated it can't stop the drive. Close all the applications and try again.

If that fails, shut down your pc and unplug the USB connection.

Troubleshooting

Telnet is an application layer protocol. If you can telnet to the other router, then you do not have any network issues. However, the fact that you can telnet but not ping suggests that icmp messages have been blocked in the configuration of one or both routers. This is a security feature, because attacks can be launched via icmp messages.
