I am a chief maintance at a courtyard marriott and i have the same problem my ignition board blinks 3 times and says ignition lock out and usually it has something to do with the flow so may want to check a flow issue

What is the difference between hi e2 fresh and salt water heaters?
yes has a nickel heat exchange rather than copper you still need to make sure gas pressure is adequate and proper chemistry

Hi-E2 350 heater trips thermal switch on exhaust collector after 10-15 minutes of run time. Went through the manual tested all gas and air pressures with digital differential manometer, adjusted to within...
Check the condition of the heat exchanger. If it is heavily sooted from prior to adjusting gas pressure it will not vent properly. Check for downdrafting or blockage in the flue pipe if the heat exchanger is not sooted.

If the heat exchanger is sooted a good steam cleaning or even a trip to a car wash should remove enough soot for it to return to operating normally.

Laars HI EZR heater does not come on
Hi. I work on Laars HI-E2 heaters at the hotels and there are 3 possible problem. The igniter, ignition control module or "not enough air for good hot combustion" are the main sources. I can go into details about my experiences. I suggest it is best to contact a service company to look at the problem.

Heater will not heat
If you dont smell any gas make sure that all gas valves between the heater and the main gas meter are open, and the gas valve in the heater is in the on position. Try cleaning out the nozzles that the gas comes out of. Sometimes they can build up with cobwebs.

FL O error on my Jandy lite LJ. Check safety circuit even jumped out pressure switch and safety circuit. FL O still pops up on the LCD display. if using a controller see if heat is enabled if ok make sure red light calling for heat if not try jumping firemans switch to bypass controller if heater lights controller or temp sensor in controller if no heater working issue in heater
