SOURCE: fax machine sharp ux-510 not able to recd faxes it

When you can send but not receive faxes it usually is one of two things causing the problem.

  1. The phone line is plugged into the wrong jack on the fax
  2. The fax is not set to "Auto" where it answers automatically

Sharp fault codes

Try using the speaker button in the fax mode to dial out, that way you can hear what the operator is asking for. You might need to dial a 1, or you might need to enter a long distance code. It all depends on your phone system.

SHARP UX-A1000 - sends all BLACK page (to all

Noisy line? is all that strikes true when you ensure me it makes great photocopys, but then you receive OK, very strange, All the mechanisms for doing a local copy is the same as sending a fax the difference is the conversion to phone noise so it has to be electronic, I;d guess lightning/power surge, cant think of much else....sorry

Faxing with a long distance code

after you dial the number you hit the pause button (usually 1-2 times) then dial additional numbers.

basically everytime you need the machine to wait for something to happen you need to hit pause

example: i have to dial five digit access code for my fax for LD calls it would be dialed on fax like this

1-234-567-8901 pause pause 12345 start

Sharp AR 168s cant fax

If the fax kit is installed you will see the phone ports on the back. If no ports then you don't have the fax kit. It was not standard in the 168s

Line error

I have a Sharp UX-300. When I get a line error, the easiest way to clear it is to unplug the fax machine from the power outlet and let it stand for at least a minute. Then plug it back in to the power outlet. If this does not clear the problem, use a regular phone to check if the phone line between the fax machine and the wall is 'OK'.
