How to design a greedy algorithm using pseudocode that solves this optimization problem of transferring files to disk while minimizing unused storage. The inputs to this algorithm are the number of files n, corresponding sizes (in MBs) s1, ... sn, m the number of disks, and corresponding storages amounts t1, ..., tm. The algorithm should return an array map[i] which contains the disk index of which the ith media file should be stored.

This is done automatically by the OS. If you need to save space you can compress files, or off load to cheaper storage.

SOURCE: WD passport 320GB Can I use it as storage, not backup?

You can use it as storage if you would like. You can also delete files once they are put on the passport. When it is connected to the computer open my computer and it will be listed there. You can use it as storage by copying files into this way rather than syncing it. Syncing it could cause you to lose files.

How to clear disk space on laptop?

I would advise that you run CCleaner regularly to get rid of unused system files. You could also use WinDirStat to show you which files are taking up the most space on your laptop.

Tmobile mytouch Q 4G Slide....running very slow not letting pull up dial pad battery running hot and running out fast freezing up internet not working alot needing to restart the phone all the time

  • Close unused programs by accessing the Task Manager on the device. According to MobileTopSoft.com, Windows Mobile devices use a feature called "Smart Minimize." This software simply minimizes a program when you think you might have closed it. Thus, the device becomes slow because too many programs are running. Closing out programs via the device Task Manager should be completed daily.
  • 2Clear the temporary files from the device. Storage on a Windows Mobile device is at a minimum, and it's important to keep the phone cleared of any unnecessary data, such as temporary Internet files. To complete this task go to Internet Explorer and access "Menu," "Tools" "Options" and finally "Memory"; delete the files here.
  • 3Avoid overloading the device with unwanted programs. Programs take up storage space on your device. By taking caution when downloading programs and removing unwanted programs, you will minimize the amount of storage taken up. This will reduce the slowness of the Windows Mobile device.

    Too small capacity

Depends on what you are using the hard drive for. For example if this hard drive is going to be used for multimedia then I would recommend a hard drive around 120Gb to 1TB, but if it's for a small office with MS Windows XP installed it should be just enough to host the operating system and a limited amount of programs, hope this help, best of luck

Cannot play Blackberry 9000 mp3 files on Bluetooth devise

    Complete the following steps:
    1) Use a search engine or a dedicated download site to find and download a third-party conversion tool. The tool must have the ability to convert the format of the audio or video file to a file format that the Media application can read.
    2) Install the third-party conversion tool and follow the program instructions to convert the audio or video file to a format that the Media application supports. Refer to the following tables for optimal settings in the Media application.
Optimal settings for the Media application on the BlackBerry 9000 series smartphones:-
    For video setting's
    a) Video format: MPEG-4.
    b) Video file extension: .avi
    c) Resolution (4:3): 240x180
    d) Resolution (16:9): 320x180
    e) Video bitrate: 400 Kbps
    f) Frames per second: 24

    For Audio settings:-
    a) Audio format: MP3
    b) Audio bitrate: 128 Kbps
    c) Sample rate: 44 kHz
    d) Channels: 2 (Stereo)

Transfer the audio or video file from the computer to the BlackBerry smartphone using one of the following methods:-
    1) Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Note: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 must be installed on the computer.
    1. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, open BlackBerry Media Manager.
    2. Use the Media Manager tool to transfer the audio or video file to the BlackBerry smartphone using a USB connection.
    3. Copy the files to the appropriate folder (either \blackberry\Music or \blackberry\Video) on the media card, or directly to the internal BlackBerry smartphone memory.
Note: Files larger than 3 MB cannot be transferred to internal BlackBerry smartphone memory.
    2) Using the BlackBerry smartphone as a USB mass storage device:-
    1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options > Advanced Options > Media Card.
    2. Make sure that Mass Storage Mode Support is set to Enabled.
    3. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and follow the prompts on the BlackBerry smartphone.
    4. Open the My Computer folder on the computer. The media card should appear there as a Removable Disk.
    5. Copy the files to the appropriate folder (either \blackberry\Music or \blackberry\Video) on the media card.
    Using a media card reader
    1. Make sure that the media card reader is connected to the computer.
    2. Insert a media card into the media card reader.
    3. Open the My Computer folder on the computer. The media card should appear there as a Removable Disk.
    4. Copy the files to the appropriate folder (either \blackberry\Music or \blackberry\Video) on the media card.
    5. Insert the media card into the BlackBerry smartphone.

How to increase the storage area without using the storage card?

Hi. You can increase the space on your storage area by transfering some unused files from your storage area to PC, or you can simply uninstall some unused programs from your device. I also recommend you to use your SD Card for your pictures, music, videos (they take a lot of space, so its better to keep them in your SD Card). You can simply transfer these kind of personal files from your storage area to your SD Card by using the default File Explorer (can be found in the start menu). At least 3MB should be left on your storage area in general, you can check sizes of the free space on your storages areas by accessing the Memory menu in the settings. Hope this helps.

Whenever i send any data to pen drive then during that time of interval it shows that data but after ejecting from the pc and after re insurting it shows that file corrupted, please help me now.

I'm assuming you are using Windows, please let me know if you aren't.
The most likely reason is that your device is set to "optimized for performance" and is caching the files, rather than writing them directly to the pen drive. If you use the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from your system tray to disconnect the drive first does it then save the files properly?
If it does then you can set the device to "Optimized for quick removal" by going into the device manager and double-clicking the device (may be called a USB storage device, or Generic storage device in disk drives) and then under poicies change it to "Optimized for quick removal". This will mean slower performance as the files are written to the device in "real time" rather then being stored in memory, but it should stop them becoming corrupted.
