SOURCE: Turned it on and there is no curser. Pad is not working

Hmmm....

1. Make sure there's no USB storage device connected to it. It may boot from there instead of the hard drive.

If this is the case, go to the system BIOS by tapping F2, turn off USB emulation.

SOURCE: Spilled water on my keyboard,

When this happens, you should fully disassemble the notebook & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of liquid on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, liquid damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no liquid seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the notebook.
If the liquid fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you will have to replace the keyboard.

Can't shut off touch pad for typing, Dell N5050

Make sure the Alps Pointing Device Driver (for the touch pad) is loading at startup so you get the option to toggle this on/off with the Fn/F3 key combination.

Start->Search msconfig should get you the program you need to run to check- look under startup tab and ensure the Alps Pointing Device driver is checked.so it's loading at startup.

Hope this helps.

While typing on Acer Aspire the typing jumps around constantly...why?

Most of the time disabling the tapping for the touchpad solves the problem. Go to settings and disable the tapping for the touchpad, not the touchpad itself, just the tapping.

When I am typing my curser starts jumping around how do I stop this

Try disabling the touchpad in the BIOS and see if it still happens. If it stops you are accidently touching the pad while typing and the cursor jumps becaus eof that

My Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook computer curser "jumps around"

I frequently have the same thing when using a Dell laptop. The problem MAY be with the touch pad. Without noticing it, my thumb touches the pad and away goes the cursor!

So try this: Open the control panel and go to mouse. Look at the top for Touchpad. There is a setting in there for sensitivity. Reduce the setting so that you need to apply more pressure on the touch pad to move the cursor. Test it a few times to make sure it is still functional before closing the control panel. Then try typing something in a word processor and see if it is any better.

Good luck, and please let me know if this helps.

How can I stop my curser from jumping around whilst typing ?

Hello
Most probably because your 'Touch Pad Mouse' is touched by your palm (hand or something) while you are typing. Avoid contact with the mouse touch pad while typing.
Option 2:
If you have a centre moveable mouse on your laptop, start using it and disable the 'Touch pad mouse'
Best of luck!

Are you bumping the touch pad while you type? This may be causing the curser to move around. This laptop is known for its sensitive touch pad.
