The pixels on your screen are controlled by a matrix composed of switches that turn off and on to produce light.

They are located vertically and horizontally, row-wise and must function together to produce everything from black (everything turned on so no light, or very little, can escape) to layers that represent the three colors that are used alone or in combination to produce the millions of possible shades of each.

One of the switches that controls one of the vertical columns has failed and has turned on the entire column that allows red to display.

The problem switch (a semiconductor combined with many) is permanently turned on, probably part of the screen assembly itself, and was placed with others by robots.
The pin spacing on these 'chips' is very small and often makes the assembly unrepairable.

While LCD panels have fallen hugely in price, you may be looking at a parts cost (labor is probably not too bad) that may make you decide to replace the set.

Unfortunately, the once-proud Emerson name has sadly been degraded and there is a lot of their electronics available from companies that specialize in 'refurbished' products, an indication that they have a large failure rate.

Check its power supply regulator board for any loose solder terminals. Might need replacement.

Sounds like remote control fault. Intensity of infra-red emission from the remote control is weak. Change the remote control or replace the infra-red LED inside it. Contact any service technician.

Why does my emerson 32In TV not find a channel for the DVD player that is running?

Check all the input connections once again. Check input cords. Change the cord and check. Sounds you have connected it to receive signals as AV. Select the input at TV to AV. If colors of the wire connected doesn't match the colors of the sockets at both TV and DVD end; this type of fault can occur. Anyway, check the connections and the colors of socket & wire do match, once again.
If all are found ok; and still you do not get signals, the main board to your TV should be troubleshooted. Contact any service technician.

You should order an hdmi cable for the WII so that it will connect. Right now you have audio (red and white) and video (yellow) the new television sets dont use that anymore.

Emerson flat screen tv just flashing colors

There are so many reasons for this fault. Check all the flat cable connections that goes to panel from T'Con board first. Re-seat them. This fault is technically called flickering. If you want to know more check this link.
