Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer

2 Answers

We want to default the printer to just print black until we need it to print color. It's an HP Color LaserJet 600 and it's currently set to print in color. How do we change it to print in black only until we need a color print?

Select your printer in printers and faxes. right click, select properties. select printing preferences. select grey scale under the color tab. click ok, ok. it will now always print in black and white unless you change it back the way the previous post suggests. that will be only temporary.

I have HP LaserJet Enterprise 700 color MFP M775dn ptinter and i forgot the username and password to access the setting through the web, any way to reset it please ?

You will need to perform a partial clean. Turn off the printer. Turn it on and watch to boot up on screen closely. When the black line appears under the HP logo, touch the HP logo. Display will go to a black and blue display. Use the arrows on screen to scroll down to administration, select partial clean and press ok, and then press back arrow until continue appears on screen. Press ok and unit will restart. You will lose most of your settings this way but you have no other choice.

Error 55 is a major Engine or DC controller issue.

Try spares from salvaged printers. Look for "working pull from damaged unit". Of course reconfirm model and spare compatibility.

My hp Color Laserjet 3550 Printer wont print black when it is out of color ink

The 3550 won't print in any color if any of the colors are out. You'll have to replace the color ink that's empty to get it to print.

In the future, if you're just printing black and white, you can select "Print in Grayscale" from the print properties to just use the black ink cartridge, which will help the color cartridges to last longer.

Hp color laserjet 2600 n it will not let me print

There is an override sequence and it works well. Press the select button (checkmark) to indicate Main menu. Press right-arrow (RA) to select System Setup. Press Select , then RA to Print Quality, Hit select. RA to Replace supplies and hit Select. Now, RA to Override Out and Select. Confirm with Select again. Your 2600n will now run even with an empty toner cartridge.

Still using color toner when printing in black

Check the black toner cartridge. Most printers that use multiple cartridges will use the black cartridge as long as it has toner in it but will then start using the color toner to do the black/grayscale when the black cartridge is empty.
