Solid-state controls change the level of power in the fan motor to control the speed of the fan. For instance, when you switch from medium to high on a solid-state fan, the speed control mechanism increases the power of the motor. Solid-state controls are generally equipped in fans with controls that have predetermined settings, such as low, medium and high.
The solid state device in or around the fan motor could be defective and in need of replacement.

SOURCE: New Hampton Bay ceiling fans spin too slow

Slow spinning of the fan might be caused by a low voltage. Is there any way you can measure the voltage, and if the wires are properly connected, check for any loose wiring or rust in between connections. Maybe the breaker that supplies power to the fans has a loose connections inside, try putting a new breaker of same rated current. Check if those three fans are connected to the same breaker. Breaker can go bad from the inside not doing a proper connection and supplying a low voltage, this might be causing the slow spinning of the fan. Second the black box in the space with all the wires is called the capacitor.

We purchased the Hunter Ceiling fan over a year ago and it has worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago. When we turn on the light it just continuously blinks on and off.

there is a watt governor, or black box for the lights to cut down on wattage or energy use. you can remove the black box for the lighting, and wire it directly to the main wires. white wire to white wire, and black wire to red wire. black and red are always a hot wire and white is a neutral wire. the part number on black box should be 98480-02. this should stop the lights from blinking. have a good day !

Fan won't reverse though it has before

It could be 1 of 3 things. 1) Receiver unit, 2) Sender (Remote), 3) Motor. For my brand new ceiling fan it turned out it was the motor.

Motor just stopped working

make sure you get 230 volts at light connection or 115 if your in america. if yes check internal wiring. if all connections look good go to switch on wall where its switched on. check is there power on common side of switch. if yes then switch it on and check is there power on load side of switch. (L1). if no then switch is broke. replace switch.

Who do you think is 'you'? Electronics technician indeed. Take it down hot from running and find out what's sucking up all the juice; bearings, windings, controls, etc.
