Hello! We have a ProForm 550 treadmill. No matter how many times we straighten and tighten the belt, it immediately moves to the side rendering the treadmill unusable. Any thoughts regarding what is...

several things could be happening, 1) the rear end caps that hold the roller can be broken not keeping in adjustment the roller. 2) the walking belt bad. 3) roller back or front worn(less likely). also make sure if your belt(the new one if you need it) uses lubrication or not.

good luck to you.

When starting, the motor starts sluggishly. It sounds different and goes very slowly. At higher speeds, way high, it runs fine. Speed censor says one thing, but tread moving very slowly.

Treadmills are usually made up of various components. The rolling surface (tread) is usually placed on a set of rollers when the unit starts due to the low friction between both the surface (tread) and the rollers the surface (tread) starts slowly while the rollers move regularly and the sensor is placed on the movement of the rollers.
What you need to do is get the unit serviced usually there is a way the tread it tightened to have better grip on the rollers. This method differs from one make to the other so get an expert who knows about proform rollers. Once the system is tightened the problem will be solved.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Belt won't move

does is just not move when you're standing on it, or not even move when you're not standing on it. It may be a simple belt adjustment or if the motor is running but there's no track movement you may be looking at a loose/broken drive belt. Take the cover off, start it up and look at the motor/drive pulley assembly. If the motor turns and the front roller doesn't, tension the drive motor by moving it back. If the front roller turns but the track doesnt, do a track adjustment as per your users manual.

My new treadmill belt is to tight, motor won't run

i discovered a bolt protruduing about one inch just behind the drive belt from the moto to the roller. The drive belt had gotten over the bolt and that was causing the interfearence.
