2007 ford freestar lift gate will not open even though I can hear the lock disengaging. Still feels locked. It is manual open, but cannot lift it, feels locked.

Try pressing the door closed while unlocking and releasing. If the door previously has been slammed shut hard or just due to general wear and tear the latching mechanism can become slightly relocated. This means that when the door closes the door is pressing tighter than normal against the door seal. The compressed door seal will put a lot of strain on the latch mechanism and can hinder its retraction when released. By pressing the door closed and therefore removing the strain due to the door seal you might allow the release mechanism enough freedom of movement to retract when released. If having got the door open then immediately adjust/relocate and lubricate the lock/release mechanism such that you achieve a happy medium of the door closing with a weatherproof seal but not so tightly as to put the latch under a lot of strain.

I have a Trilogy lock on the west side of the building. It started to beep, thinking it was the battery, I replaced the battery pack and did the reset by unplugging the battery, hold a key for 10 seconds...

Kevin, I think that you have a unique problem here and my best advice is for you to make a phone call to Alarm Lock, the manufacturer, because your lock may be under warranty.
The number is 1-800-252-5625 and they are locate in New York, so best call during East Coast business hours. Have the complete model number ready when you call.
A note of caution: concerning the DL 2700, there is an "internal-use" model, and a "weatherproof model" available for exterior use. The weatherproof model will have a number like DL2700WPIC/26D-Y
The WP is for WeatherProof; the rest of the number is for cylinder type, finish, and key type.
I hope that you have the correct model for your application.

For your convenience, here is the website for Alarm Lock:

From the main page, you can find programming info, etc. by following the TECH SUPPORT link on that page. Info like the programming instructions are in the form of PDF files, so if you cannot view them, you need to install Adobe Reader on your computer. You can get the free download here:

Good luck, Kevin--and please provide feedback if this helps!

I have a similar weatherproof lock (different brand) that has the same problem. Remove the key. Line up the end of the u-shaped part with its hole, and put the u-shaped part against a surface that will not give (like the garage door frame, in my case). Hit the bottom as hard as you can with your hand. I had to do this more than once, but it did eventually lock.

I've locked and unlocked it only 2 or 3 times since it became hard to close (I had it for years without incident). The above is only a temporary solution.

Lock won`t open

Look for a button or sensor which turns the light off or which the door would press when closed.
If you find it hold it down for a minute, then let go this should reset the lock
