Question about Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor
I just purchased a used Cuisinart DLC 7 Super Pro Food Processor - I have all the parts but no manual. Is there one available to download?

You'll have to look around at the options and pick one that looks like the one you have.
If you have an older one, the handle for the bowl generally goes in front, and check the base to see if the button that gets pushed down when the top is in locked position is in the front or the back... and try to match that. The DLC-10s has it in the front (7 cup machine), but many of the larger machines have it in the back. The feed tube matches up with the button when you put the lid on. If you put the lid on with the feed tube 180 degrees off, you can break the lid/bowl getting them apart again.
Getting this right is the most important thing... otherwise they just kind of work. The link for the 7-cup Pro Classic Food Processor (DLC-10s) has really good technique information with color photos. It's worth grabbing regardless of the machine you have.
Other manuals have other recipes... so you might want to download more than one manual.

SOURCE: no instruction manual
First, test the motor by completely removing the workbowl. There should be a dark grey or black button on the base of the processor. Using a pen (not your finger), press and hold the button while turning the machine on - if it does not spin, the motor is dead. If it does spin, then you should reattach the work bowl, slide the lid into place, and then slide the pusher sleeve into place. Slide the pusher into locked position. You need to pull the old one off, probably with vise grips and a lot of effort, and then order a new one. The new one is a tiny bit larger, so you'll probably need to order new blades, too. The new one slips right on, so there's no issue that would be the reverse of removing the old one. I read somewhere else that you have to pound hard to get the new one on, but that guy must have been speaking about the older model spindles. I was perplexed that the new one slipped right on so I pounded it to be sure and ended up breaking the tip of the new spindle and cracking the housing of the whole processor.
