Question about Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player

Open Question

How do I keep my dvd player running?

I use a dvd that loops at the end of the program. Since the last update from Samsung my dvd player shuts off at the end instead of looping to the beginning. How do I fix this? Thank you.

CAN YOU USE ANY BLANK DVD TO MAKE LOOPED VIDEOS BY JUST CHANGING THE SETTINGS?

Hi Leah
There are two options that might work for you. The commercial DVDs you buy that loop, have a setting enabled when they are created that causes the player to loop. A lot of the programs that you use to make dvds at home have the ability to enable this setting as well. It depends on what program you use so check the help files or do a search for Make Loop DVD With ( Your Software ). Some players also have a playback option called looping, continuous play, or even store demo mode that would allow you to run any DVD in a loop mode.

Hi there. I have a sky hd plus box and I am unsure how to connect it to my Samsung BD-D8900 Blu-ray HDD player so i can record programs from the Sky box. Hod do I do this please?

Connect the Sky boxes AV out to the line in of the Samsung using a Yellow/Red/White RCA cable. Then in the source button of the Samsung choose External In or Line In and just hit the record button. The only problem with this connection is that you will have to leave the Samsung selector on Line In even just to watch programs from Sky. This is called a looped through connection. Your Sky is looped through your Samsung Recorder.

Have you changed programs that you use to burn VCDs?
(Perhaps the program was updated?)

Perhaps trying a different program to make the VCD will work for you.

Also; when is the last time you cleaned the DVD player lens?

If you can, connect the unit to your network with a lan jack and check for updates. more than likely it's a software update. Run a disc cleaner thru it as well. hope this helps.

Trouble with samsung bp-3600

Its probably the update. Samsung has had a history of pushing updates then having to send a new one to fix the last one. Sites like AVS forums are full of good info. If there's alot of people having the same issue it helps you identify the culprit. In these situations there's only 2 possible culprits the update or the player itself. If its still under warranty take it back and confirm its the update. Or, wait for the fix.

When ever i log on the computer says configuring update 3 of 3 0% complete do not shut down. Then it shuts down on it's own and keeps doing the same thing over and over.

Turn on the computer, and as soon as it it on, keep on tapping F8 key until you see a black screen with white text. Choose the Last Known Good Configuartion option.

Samsung dvd-rom 616E won't play sounds

I decided to check to see which video player programs were already on my computer. I have a Dell, so there were several that came preinstalled.
Did I mention that Windows Update had installed several new fixes recently?
My toolbar no longer worked like it did last week, that was a clue.
2 of my programs were no longer in the programs list, Interplayer and Power DVD were missing.
I went to the Power DVD site and downloaded the latest update.
Now my DVD player works fine.
I don't know why RealPlayer or Media Player didn't work, even with the updates.
I don't care, as long as something works.
I could have tried Winamp too but Power DVD worked and I didn't try anything else after that.
It doesn't have to be a problem with the hardware, but could be the software.

try starting the computer in safe mode. As the computer boots keep pressing F8 until you hear a beep. The computer will or should start in safe mode, once it has everything will look big, don't worry about that for now, click on start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and choose a date for when you know the computer was working without any problems. Once the computer has restored it will shut down and reboot. When/if asked what mode you want to boot/start your computer choose start windows normally. I hope this helps.

My LG LRH-880 HDD/DVD recorder sometimes stops recording by itself, before the end of the programming and even if there is enough disk space left.

Somehow, my HDD/DVD recorder recorded correctly 2 times last night, even if I did not do anything specific to fix. I will keep an eye on new occurences of this problem, but it appears at the moment that the issue disappeared by itself.
