I don't find any reference to an oil sensor on the 4P90JUB.

I have a 8 hp snow blower,I would like to know what the oil capacity of engine and what type of motor oil i should use. What weight oil?and can you use regular sae motor oil automotive type non detergent ?

Your question as I received it did not specify the engine make, but most 8 hp Techumseh, B&S and Powermore engines take 22 to 32 oz of oil. Buy a quart, put two-thirds of the quart in the engine and check the level with the dipstick or fill hole. Add more if needed to come up to the "full" mark.
All the manufactures and Craftsman recommends 5W30 for 4 cycle winter use.
You can use regular sae oil, but I prefer to use Mobil ONE or a heavy duty oil because air cooled engines run hotter than car engines. Look for a SC/SD or greater rating on the bottle.
Change your oil once a year.
Feel free to as any other questions about your snow blower. Don't forget to rate this answer!

My Troy built self propelled mower with HOnda motor mowed two lengths of my lawn and cut off. It will start again, only to quickly shut-off again. Please help.

Most of the time this is caused by the low oil level sensor on the engine. First check the engine oil level in the engine and make sure it is full. If it is at normal levels then to check if it is infact the oil level sensor that is causing the problem disconnect ONE wire lead from the oil level sensor. If it runs normally after disconnecting the lead either the oil level sensor is very dirty or has failed. Should this not be the probelm just respond here and I will get back to you usually the same day. If you know your engine model number (on crank case not far from the base of the oil fill) please include that with any responses.

Thanks for choosing Fixya.

My murray riding lawn mower startup and after 1 to 2 minutes it shuts off

Check the oil level in the engine. When an engine starts and shuts off in a few minutes the oil level sensor is usually sensing low oil and shutting off the engine. Service the oil to the full mark and try it again. If it still persists disconnect ONE wire fromt the oil level sensor and try it yet again. If after disconnecting ONE wire from the oil level sensor the mower no longer does it's early shutting off routine the oil level sensor has failed or is very dirty. You can try cleaning it with gasoline before replacing it. Sometimes this solves the problem. Other times you just have to replace the oil level sensor.

There is the possibility of a seat safety switch problem also.

Thanks for using FixYa.
