SOURCE: Loud clanking noise during spin cycle. Will not

Some of the support items for the drum (springs / shocks) may have worn out have partially failed. Front loaders usually have both items with springs on top and shocks on bottom.Open access panels front and top, check for worn/missing/broken springs and shocks that might be leaking fluid. Replace as needed.

The spin cycle is very noisy. What could be the problem?

hi robyn.
A washer making a loud noise during spin cycle can also be caused by a faulty drive pulley. The pulley is what the belt (if applicable to yourwasher) rides on to spin your washers tub. The pulley can be made of plastic or metal. It could be simply worn out or just loose.27 Jul 2015

The tub hits the wall of washer during spin cycle an a suspension rod will come off at the top, it has four suspension rods.

There are plastic cups that the rods set in are they all in place and you have little springs that come from the rod to the tub top. The rods could also be bent causing the tub to hit the wall.Hope this helps!

My model GLET1041AS2 Frigidaire Laundry Center fills/agitates, but does not pump or spin. The timer would make a slight buzzing/timer sound when it hits the spin cycle, but nothing else.

The circuit board has a Cycle generator and sequencer that accepts commands when you manually do a setting. When the sequence enters the spin phase a block occurs and discontinues further action. It is not the timer, but the command center on the circuit board. Because the board has many functions, it is like a set of Christmas Tree lights in series, and when one bulb fails, so goes the set. You will no doubt need a new command board for that model.

I took my washer all appart to clean the gum out of the tub now the spin cycle hits and bangs the sides so much you cant use it

Assume this is front loading washing machine, Check drum dampeners are firm, any cables that were held by cable ties near the drum and were removed in order to remove the cables in order to access the drum need to be replaced with new cable ties, there shouldn't be anything loose dangling around near the drum, as it will strike when the drum vibrates during its spin cycle.

Maytag Neptune model # mah6500aww: makes banging noise and causes machine to move

A loud banging sound in the pipes is usually caused by a water hammer effect. Water hammer sounds are caused by a valve closing in the system, and yet the water in the pipe is still flowing because of its kinetic energy. The banging happens as the water hits the valve that prevents it from going any further. If the kinetic energy is great enough, it can actually cause a pipe to burst or explode at the end. If a valve is closed near the beginning or in the middle of a system, the water keeps flowing after that point, and it can actually create a vacuum. This vacuum can cause a pipe to implode if the stress is too great. Roaring type noises may be coming from a spin bearing. This bearing probably had the grease washed from it because of a tub seal leak.
Squeaking sounds in a new washer are usually caused by the new parts getting broken in, and will usually go away after several washes.
The sounds of water gurgling, slurping, or sloshing during a spin cycle are usually caused by the drain pump pushing the water out of the washer tub.
Too much water pressure can cause a whistling or squealing sound. Adjust the hot and cold intake water valves to relieve this sound.
Metallic clinking sounds during spin or agitation may be the result of drive train components meshing during speed changes or after a pause.
Swishing or swooshing type of sounds may be caused by water and suds trapped between the tub and basket during a spin cycle, and will usually clear up as the water is drained from the washer

Maytag washer bangs during spin cycle

chances are you had a blockage in the pump and it tried to spin with the water still in the drum. check the bottom hose and filter for blockages so it does not occur again.

The tub never starts to spin when it hits spin cycle.

If your washer functions when the door is shut it cannot be a door problem. The likely thing here is you may have a drain problem....your drain oulet filter (or out pump) could be blocked. This requires cleaning; when the washer goes thru all the functions except spin it is most likely your drain is clogged. Aft u have cleaned the filter & pump check by a small spin. Before you attempt, wall socket off & keep bucket handy to collect water.
