Question about Toshiba 36A40 36" TV
Someone sat on one of our two controllers. We have a DISH controller and a Toshiba CT-90235 TV Guide controller. This combination worked quite well for several years. Someone sat on or dropped one of controllers and TV screen prompted us to reset up TV. We didn't know how to answer some of the questions and now we have a screen that comes up whenever we turn on the TV that is basically a ********* box with 3 smaller screens on the left, one of them being the channel we want to watch. We have to hit "Exit" on the TV Guide controller for it to release us to the full screen of the program we want to watch. How do we turn off the TV guide feature so we can watch TV like we used to-- i.e.select a channel and the full screen comes up?

I had the same problem with my remote...over time it slowly stopped working. (sorry for poor terminology) I noticed that one of the battery terminals was corroded and that the metal connecting the battery to the board was completely gone. I simply swapped this out with one from another remote and now its working fine. Seems the only issue is that the battery was not connected.
I hope this helps.
