Question about Kenmore ELITE 790 30 FREESTANDING DUAL FUEL OVEN/RANGE

I continue to get code F11 on my Kenmore Elite Gas Range Oven and therefore, I am unable to unlock / open my oven door. I have pressed and held down the STOP button as well as the oven light button.

While selecting the specific product, the option given ended with KENMORE ELITE 790 30 FREESTANDING DUAL.... To specify further, I have a single convection oven that has only one oven with the option to use the drawer at the bottom as a WARMER DRAWER. It is a gas oven / range with three circular / normal burners on the right and middle of the range, and has a long oval burner on the left. The oven / range is white in color. I hope that is specific enough and apologies for the length of my inquiry.

Your model number should be much longer than 790 30 Open drawers and doors to look for the whole model number around the frame.

With the whole model number you can get more information at Sears Parts Direct. There are parts diagrams and user manuals and you can order parts.

There are a series of holes in the burner leading down from the main flame area to the pilot tube, ensure the holes are not plugged/restricted.

I realize this is over a year old. I have the same unit with the same error code. Last night, mine made a popping noise followed by smoke and then displayed the 41 and all E's. I pulled the breaker immediately. I'm sure that at least one controller board is toast.
I called Sears and it is under warranty but for parts only, so I guess I will give them a call and schedule the repairman. This should be fun.

Anyone else experienced this failure??

this is because the gas is on full before the oven lights
IT is an explosive situation and should be quickly corrected by an accredited gas fitter
the soot indicates an incorrect burn ratio and that will be the major part of the problem

Look at the upper rail of the oven at the front. Look for clips that unscrew and will allow you to tilt the top backwards.

One burner ignitor does not work

Try cleaning the burners by boiling them in degreaser like soda crystals. Burnt food can act as an insulator to the current for the spark which is grounded through the burner. If that doesn't work, you need to left the top of the hob to check the wiring underneath.

170 degrees is likely the minimum it can read. put a container of water in the oven, put the probe in the water, and set the oven for 250 degrees. Watch the probe, and see what temperature it shows when the water boils. Depending on your altitude, it should be 212 or a little less.

F14 Error

First please get the full model number of the range. Kenmore products are made by other manufacturers and the error codes will depend on the manufacturer.

Most likely, you have a Frigidaire range (for example a 970. model). Then the F14 code could indicate a problem with the P12 ribbon cable connector tail, a bad EOC (control unit), or touchpad. First try disconnecting and reconnecting that cable. Next the EOC should be replaced. Finally the touchpad should be replaced.

If this is a brand new range, contact Sears to get a repair person to fix the range. If you bought it used, see the above possible solutions.
