The phone does come apart ,it just doesn't look like it does.Right along the sides there is a thin line where you can pull the back off.just use a thin screw driver or knife and very carefully slip it in the crack along the side and pull the back of and replace your battery.

Hi ! I seem to have this problem to, at least once a week. The soft reset usually works but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the root cause of the problem.
Many thanks!

My htc smart restart what i do it problem

It is possible that the phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Copy only valid files to the card and do a scan before it is replaced. Also check the voltage on the battery and also the contacts of the battery to the phone. Clean and then replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up or is slow when it is switched ON , then it is confirmed that the software has errors and will need a reinstallation.

Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

I'm receiving and error message when I try to upload pictures to Facebook. How do I correct this error. It started 2/13/11. Uploading pictures before worked Jus fine.

If you have not changed or upgraded your cellular plan, then i would suggest removing the battery. Make sure to leave it out at least 20 seconds. This will usually fix many data problems. Smart Phones should have a battery removal few times a month.

Unresponsive start menu

Someones talking rubbish at you mate, all removing the internal battery will do is reset the clock (plus you will break the phone as its a pig..)
Depending what software is loaded all windows smart phones can be a bit slow just after start up as all the internal programs start up, and navigating menus is often slow to begin with as the first time in the handset cache's the pages and it will then speed up. but if its very unreliable....

Firstly try a hard reset, remove wait 10 seconds and replace the battery.
press and hold the two soft keys (the two buttons with a "-" each side of the navigation keys) while breafly pressing the power switch then follow the instructions. If it boots up as normal, remove the battery and try again.
NOTE this will remove all data and restore to the installed rom

If you still find that your having problems it may be that some one has flashed a flaky rom into it (eg if it has wm 6.1 on)

Register your handset on the club HTC website and get the most recent rom and re flash your handset, if it is still missbehaving after a re-flash it may be there is a problem that needs the attention of HTC, you can book your handset in here

if your feeling adventurous there are a selection of roms to choose from made by other s710 users (but this may be the root of your problem anyway.. ) as well as many other handy tips and tricks here

give me a shout if you get stuck
Best of Luck
