Sounds Like you have Bad wiring in your Mic connection. Also if you are using it at home on a power supply make sure its regulated so to not get the Humming sound. Also what type of Coax Cable and antenna are you using? Also are you using it at home or in the Car? Have you tried a different Microphone? Hope this Helps. Let me Know.........

When i keyup my d104 mic on cober 148 gtl ihear feedback squeal.but the d104 work good cobera 2000 gtl

try to keep the mic away from the radio speaker.check to see if its turned up to high.check your mic gain to make sure its like 1/2 open.If these fail then you could solder two 0.001 ceramic disc capacitors from the audio to the shield wires about 3" apart.then on the audio wire in between the 2 caps solder a 4700 ohm 1/4 w resistor.this should work.

Cobra 148 gtl d has problem transmiting with covers off. trying to tune radio up. was thinking I need to ground the chasis

I would say a bad or cold solder joint on board somewhere. Bad quality control. Might flex radio chassis slightly while keying? A tooth pick and hours of probing around switching area on board and the pa section till problem found.
