Can I add that if you have never used an overlocker before, go take a class or two, it really helps to be shown how to do things on these machines as their function is so different to a sewing machine. I have a Bernina 334D and the dealer offered a free demonstration session after the sale which was so beneficial. This is one of the reasons why I'd always buy from a sewing machine shop rather than on line, it really helps to have an experienced person to go back to for help.

Did your receive oil in your accessories if so then you need to oil your machine but if you did not then you probably need t let a dealer oil it some machines don't need oiling. I would check your manual or your nearest sewing machine dealer.

I am looking for a manual for my janome 9102D serger. It did not come with one.

I could not find a manual to download, but at the Janome site you may find another serger similar to yours and download (free).

Look thought the retired models as well.

When you find one, click on specifications and a PDF download icon will come up on the screen.

If that is not satisfactory, contact Janome's customer service at the same site.

I have read two postings on this particular model. One owner indicated the only instructions came on a VHS tape and the other was looking for a replacement manual as the dog and destroyed their original!!!!

Another good source for serger basics is Nancy Zieman's book "Serge With Confidence". The book has much more than a manual usually provides.

i suggest you get a tech to re-time your machine. timing is complex on an overlocker and if not done correctly you will probably break a looper.
