Question about Bose & Wave& Music System

1 Answer

Bose music system remote is inconsistent.

I went to purchase a new battery, but was told it was fine and the remote was sending out a signal. It will turn the music system on occasionally if I find exactly the right position. That position will vary. I've cleaned the front of the Bose and the remote with a soft cloth as the manual says. The remote works about once in 20 attempts. I see no numbers on the remote. The unit has numbers for "direct marketing group." Remote and owner's manual say "Wave music system."

The notoriously unreliable SMD capacitors which Bose installed are long defective. That's just the start of your problems.

You'll need to replace those defective capacitors with much higher-quality units than the original.

Only a tech experienced with SMD work should attempt this repair.

Replacing the PCB will solve your problem for only a short time, as you are just getting the original standard junk again, but new.

Universal remote not transmitting

Universal Remotes are so inexpensive that you are better off getting a new one than to try and spend the time to fix the remote. But here is some things to consider.... Did it STOP working when the batteries went dead? Have you put in the NEW CODES (normally on the Back of the Remote) to communicate with your equipment? Have you set up the Remote yet? You can not SEE Infared, how do you know it is not sending out a Signal?

Start by removing the Batteries and replacing them with new ones (unless you can measure the output of the Batteries with a Multi-meter). They should be close to 1.4 volts. Because a light comes on does not mean it is strong enough to operate the TV or other equipment.

Remote start sends signal but truck just cranks over no start

Change the batteries in the remotes. What happens when you press your starter button is it sends signal to the car to crank and then it needs to send another signal to start. The second phase would fail because the battery in the remote was low. Try replacing the and see if that works

Sanyo DP26640 Remote not working

It could be that the remote died. Happens. Is it sending signal to set? If not, it is bogus. If it is, then set's receiver circuits are fubar.

Try also cleaning the contacts for on/off button.

Your car probably has an aftermarker remote car starter module installed that you reset, by changing the battery. It has nothing to do with your actual car starter. You will need to shut down(valet) or uninstall that aftermarket remote car starter module to get it to stop trying to start your car with no keys in the ignition.

The remote will not work. ive checked the batteries. they are in the correct way and are brand new. remote still wont work.

Check that it is sending a signal. Use a digital camera looking at the display as if you were going to take a picture of the front end of the remote. press buttons on the remote you should see a flashing light on the end of the remote if it is sending a signal.
This will at least tell you if the problem in with the remote or system.
If the remote is not sending a signal, try resetting it by removing the batteries and pressing the buttons several times for a few min. Note this rarely works but it is worth a try.

Yes, this sounds like a flat battery. You could try to get a jump start off someone else, so that you know it is definately not the engine. Otherwise, purchase a new battery and you should be fine.
