Question about Whirlpool Ovens

1 Answer

How do I Replace the bottom element on a Whirlpool FXVM6 oven. I cant find how to gain access to the element itself.

Have removed back panel of oven, & have gained access to the element terminals, though the element is no seem accessible from the rear. There seems to be no removable bottom plate inside the oven, or from the sides or bottom of the oven.

Can you replace oven element, cannot see any screws in oven to remove plate to gain access

You will have to remove the oven from the housing, and then remove the rear cover of oven, and gain access to the securing screws for the element from the rear of the oven, you will see how it is fixed once you remove the outer panel of oven

I have a zanussi built in oven model no zbf 860b which the fan is still working but the oven is no longer heating up?? Thanks

Hello,
If the red light is coming on when you turn on the oven control then the thermostat is ok.You will need to remove the grids from inside the oven then remove the inside rear panel 4 screws, be carreful not to damage the thermostat as you remove the panel. When you have removed panel you will see the ring element, now remove the 3 screws holding in the element and gently pull it towards you, remove the 2 cables off element but do not let them fall into the back of cooker or you will have to remove the cooker and gain access to the rear of the cooker.Once you have element check with a multi-meter for continuity and replace if blown. Relacement is a reverse of removal.

Hope this helps.

Whirlpool Range GR563LXSSo Oven doesn't come up to temperature. How do you get access to the hidden bake element to check connection and voltage?

Hello- Access is thru left side panel (from front).  Unplug oven and move out for easier access. Remove panel and find cover for element under insulation. Be careful- fiberglass dust and sharp edges!  Insulation needs to be carefully pulled back enough to remove cover and element.  This is where most techs get sloppy-  Insulation should look just as good after you finish so take some time to do it right. Please acknowledge this posted solution if helpful. I have more info if needed.- Thanks- Ed

How do you remove the bake element from the oven to replace? Thanks

Hello- Most elements are fairly easy to replace. Unplug power.  Remove back panel and locate wires that plug into element. Unplug and remove screws holding element in place. Replace element, hook up wires, and put back panel on. Plug in and you should be good to go.  Please acknowledge post if info helps- have more if needed-- Thanks- Ed

How do a change the element on a candy oven , can't get to the old element

You have to gain access to the element by removing the outer rear panel of oven, if it is built in, then this means removing it from the housing.
Once you have removed the cover, and possibly the top panel, you will see how the element is fitted.
It is a fairly straight forward repair to do.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Ihave a whirlpool oven model gbs277pdo1 that will

this could be the timer is set to auto this data sheet might help For all Free appliance repair videos visit our VIDEO TUTORIALS 1, If the fan motor in the back of the oven is going round and the temperature light is on (normally little red light), but there is no heat then you will probably need a new oven element, these are generally very easy to fit and readily available from our website these can be tested with a electric meter.
To gain access to the element you will have to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will see the fan and element, if you look closely at the element you will probably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes however there is no evidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie: broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Some elements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nuts from the rear of the machine.
2, If your fan oven is getting warm but takes a very long time to cook or is burning the food more on one side than the other, then you need to check if your oven fan motor is working you will see the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating but the fan motor is not blowing the heat into the oven then you need To replace the oven fan motor is a little more expensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your oven is over heating and burning everything then you will need to replace your oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer is if your oven is not working at all ie: no heat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oven timer into AUTO mode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.

Oven doesn's heat up when using the conventional function.

Yes, there is probably a second element involved. you will probably find that it is located under the base of the oven. It is called the base element..
You will have to remove the rear and side panel to gain access to it.
Hope this helps solve your problem.

Element needs replacing

You need to remove the outer rear panel of oven to gain access to heater on this model.
The element is attached to a panel at the rear of oven , which when removed gives you access to the element..
It cann ot be done from inside the oven.

Thanks.
