Hi Daiel,

Hopefully this will be the problem of the system memory module or the module slot. Try with changing the memory slot of same memory module or change the entire memory module. Its very old one right, so these problems may occur due to heavy duty done by the memory modules.

Hi there, you can also try swapping the memory sticks around. I sold over 30 GX260s last year, some of them had the same issue. If you need memory for that unit, we have ton's of memory that was took out of the old units. Good luck!

SOURCE: error I/0 card parity interrupt at F000:F188 Type (S)hutoff NMI (R)eboot, other keys continue

Someone else on fixya suggested RAM - http://www.fixya.com/support/t10259172-o_card_parity_interrupt_f000_f188_type

I'd definitely at least run a RAM test - if you can get that far (bootup using a bootable CD with memtest 4). Otherwise just see if removing the RAM has any impact.

Also could try flashing the BIOS, again if you can get that far.

It's clearly not relating the operating system, so either BIOS, or hardware failure.

Just bought a new 120G HD for my Dell Latitude D600. The following error message comes up every time I turn it on: MEMORY ADDRESS LINE FAILURE AT 28000000 READ 00000000 EXPECTING FFFFFFFF DECREASING...

While the "memory loss" won't cause a major problem, you will be annoyed by the repeated message. A couple of things may be causing this. One, Windows changed the virtual memory size. This is an area on your hard drive that the computer uses to store stuff when the on board ram isn't large enough to handel it. the other thing that may be happening is you have a memory module going bad. You must remember that the hard drive size has nothing to do with the memory size. That is, your ram memory is what handles most of the processing of information. Your hard drive is just a storage place. Like a file cabinet in your office.

If this information was helpful, please rate it high. Thanks

You have a one bit memory failure (bit 23) in your RAM memory just above the 50 Mb area, (address 50343896)

You will need to replace the failing memory module.

Thanks for your initial efforts , ref dell latitude d600 laptop.

Well there is certainly a RAM related problem. You have to open your RAM Module, Clean its golden coloured edges and reinsert it properly. Then start your laptop to see if it changes anything. If everything remains same then you have to replace your RAM.
Be very carefull if you open your RAM. Consult your Manual first.
