It should do that by printing, or perhaps update driver on computer

Testimonial: "thank you tony, it does except if I'm trying to print from another computer on my network. I have to manually bring the printer out of sleep mode to print from another computer on the network. Would work much better if the printer were just in stand-by mode."

I have feint lines across photos and have done head clean. Epson Stylus photo R220.

Well, here's your problem: that's a six year-old printer. I used to have it and and 2007 I replaced it with an Epson Stylus Photo RX595 AIO because like the R220, the RX595 has the ability to print directly onto inkjet printable CD's/DVD's. Your printheads/nozzles are shot and all the cleaning in the world will not fix them and it's certainly won't be cost effective to have repaired when you can get a current model for less than the repair price. Mine went after two years. Honestly, it's amazing that this printer lasted as long as it has. Six years has to be some kind of record.
Here are the current CD/DVD printing models from Epson.

Paper jam has been cleared, but paper jam message remains.

Try these steps and see if it resolves your problem. Hope it helps:

Follow these steps to clear a paper jam:
  1. Press the cp_button_45_er.gif Start button to eject the jammed paper. If that doesn't work, go to step 2.

  2. Turn off the Epson Stylus.

  3. Lift open the scanner and remove any paper inside, including any torn pieces.

  4. Close the scanner, then turn the Epson Stylus back on.
