Need to remove battery, dont know how compaq presario v 3000

Hello sexychispa. To remove the battery of your Compaq Presario v3000, start by turning the laptop over so that the bottom side is viewable. Look for a rounded slot in the bottom that has a sliding tab within. This is the battery release latch. Using your finger, slide the latch and hold to release the battery. With your free hand, assist the battery out of its compartment and allow the release latch to slide back into place.
For more information on the process, be sure to view this link to HP's guide to removing batteries from Compaq laptops.
Hope this helped!

Hp dv2000 battery latch stuck

I am just gonna post my answer to another, like question. BTW, this seems to be a design flaw. Do not know if HP made them this way to keep maintenance busy, or they just do not have a clue. Here was my solution, which was found on a similar question. - The HP Compaq Presario CQ62-417NR Notebook PC, which was the "newest" model in stock when I bought a laptop June 2011 has the same design flaw. Crappy plastic latch, that gets stuck in the open up position. One must be careful when putting a battery in to be sure the stupid crappy latch is not stuck all the way over to where they pushed it to get the battery out. Mine was stuck big time. Thanks to the comments on here I found my solution, which is the only one. (I am not going to risk taking a computer apart to re-set the latch; some times I lose my car keys for days on end, so taking it apart is not an option for me) My solution was to use one of the little flat head screw drivers - 3.00mm. I was able to slide it into a small crack on the side long part of the battery opposite the dvd drive, give it a small tug and the battery popped out. The latches are so cheap mine broke when I first encountered the problem because I tried to force the long knob. I did not realize it was in the open up position. Words of caution. Just pop the battery out, and you may save the latch knob. Just be careful when popping the battery out to stay away from the side where the contacts meet. A screwdriver could potentially cause problems in that area (towards the dvd drive). Cheers!

On a compaq presario v2000, latch switch that releases battery is stuck. Won't open and release battery. Afraid to push to hard and break it off.

Sounds like you will have to take it all apart & remove the Motherboard to get where the spring is & the lever to make sure it not busted or just jammed.

You need to disconnect the laptop battery from the computer and also the ac adapter so there is no power.

Then you will need to unscrew the generally 2 screws on the memory cover to get to the ram. I will have to get a service manual for your unit and confirm how its done.
