You open the gearbox up and scrape it out with your hand and maybe a screwdriver, then replace with the correct grease. For example Kitchen Aid use food grade grease.

My kitchen aid stand mixer is leaking oil were the beaters are. It dose it when using it.

It is just the grease in the gearbox breaking down. It is food grade grease so perfectly harmless. Wipe it away from time to time or pull the mixer apart and change the grease. When the oil stops leaking it will then be necessary to change the grease as it will be getting too thick to do any good in there.

Kitchenaid leaking oil

Remove the chrome drip ring that covers the outer planetary, clean it out, wipe as much oil away as possible, put the drip ring back on and carry on using it. Eventually you will need to completely dismantle the gearbox and clean out & change the grease. It's not the sort of job to look forward to. The old grease slowly breaks down over time and the oil is separating out from the grease solids. It is special food grade grease so completely harmless.

4ksm50pwh leaking oil

Remove the chrome drip ring, knock out the planetary pin and remove the planetary. Clean everything you have taken off with a rag or tissue, pop a small amount of grease on the teeth in the underside of the motor housing and reassemble. That's an easy fix that will last a reasonable time. The problem is the grease in the gearbox is getting old and breaking down. It is food grade grease so what leaks is harmless to you. Eventually you will need to replace the gearbox grease but that's an involved dirty job.

I dont know what else to add other then the oil came out of the mixer when i moved and i do not know what type of oil to put back in it and where do i put it in to the mixer on my kitchen aid mixer

Wipe the oil off and carry on. Over time the gearbox grease breaks down and oil separates from the grease solids. Eventually the gearbox will need to be repacked with new grease. Don't worry about a drip or two in a cake, it's food grade grease so harmless.

OIL IS LEAKING OUT OF THE HEAD INTO FOOD BOWL. KITCHENAID SAID OK, FOOD GRADE OIL! I DON'T LIKE BLACK OILY CAKE OR COOKIES? CAN YOU HELP US TO FIX OURSELVES.

Kitchenaid says to run the machine on 'high' long enough to heat the gearbox well and then turn the machine upside down and let it cool.

What happens is when you don't use your mixer a lot the grease in the gearbox will separate into oil and thicker grease. Warming it and turning it upside down is supposed to mix all the grease together again and allow it to flow to the top of the gearbox.

Give it a try, check back if you get no satisfaction and we'll get you started on changing your grease.

What kind of grease can be used on a stand mixer after replacing a stripped worm gear? model:K45SS

Food grade grease is what Kitchen Aid put into the gearbox originally. They do supply it as a spare part if you cannot find it as a non Kitchen Aid part.

Item: kenwood chef km201 Problem: Leaking grease from mixer shaft

Hi,

How old is the machine?

The leaking comes from the lower gearbox assembly, ther are two kind of gearbox. There are two kind of vertical drive shaft, 14mm and 12,7mm that goes through the gearbox.

You can try to replace the grease, make sure that is vegetable grease.
