18 yr old Amana. Freezer works. Refer does not work.

At the top of the freezer is a door that goes to the refrigerator. If the freezer works it means the door that lets cold air into the refrigerator is closed. Check this door.

Lg lfx25960st not cool enough

1. What are your controls (freezer & refer) set at?
LG recommends 0 deg for the freezer & 37 deg for the refer.

2. The way a modern refrigerator works is, the freezer is cooled directly and cold air then is blown into the refer section. The incoming vents in a French door LG are at the back, top. Return are at the bottom. Make certain that nothing is blocking these vents and than the refer has good air circulation.

3. Vacuum the coils at the back of the refer. A large build up of dust, dirt, animal hair etc. will affect efficiency.

Kenmore freezer too warm

Are you referring to the internal temperature of the freezer? If so
have you checked that the door is closing ok and that the door seals are meeting the door frame all round?
It might be that the coolant gas has slowly leaked out. A good indication this has happened is that the bottom of the freezer is a lot warmer than the top. If this is the case a serviceman will need to drain the existing gas and then recharge, re-pressurise and seal.
If you are referring to the outside cabinet temperature then it's probably ok and there is no fault. You would expect the outside panels of a freezer to be around room temperature or warmer as the freezer removes heat from inside the cabinet and expels it outside.

The bottom freezer of my Kenmore Refrigerator works fine but the top refrigerator compartment no longer cools? Thanks

All the cooling happens in the freezer. The refer section relys on a fan to blow cool air into it.When you open the freezer you should hear a fan running. If you hear the fan running, close the freezer door and open the refer door. Look for the vent/area where the air comes in.Put your hand in front of it.If little or no air is coming out it could be a sign of an icing/defrost problem restricting the air to the refer section.
It will take a tech with the right tools to find the exact problem.
If the fan is not running you will have to unplug the unit and remove the back of the freezer section from the inside and make sure ice is not keeping it from turning. If it is free of ice then replace the fan motor.

I have a Kenmore trio 795.7756 bottom freezer refer. has been making loud noise for days. Only stops when refer. doors are opened. I vaccumed in back, noise still there.

It sounds like the Freezer Fan and Icemaker Fan are going bad. They are located behind the back wall of the bottom freezer chest. These are very labor intensive to replace.

Freezer side is working the refer side is not and

With the information given, I would suggest three items to check. The first would be, to see, if the vents leading from the freezer into the refer side are open or not blocked. Cold air from freezer must be able to past to the refer side. Second, would be to check and see, if the fan is blowing. It will not work in the defrost mode. Third, is to look into the wall, at the very back of the freezer, to see, if there is an abundance of ice. If there is, your defrost is failing, or your freezer door isn't closing correctly. Is the door gasket sealing properly?. If your defrost is the problem, it could one or two problems. One problem could be the defrost control has stopped working. The other problem could be the defrost heater has stopped working. If you don't know how to OHM them out, you need to call a technician, take it to a technician, or discard it and purchase a new one. Good luck. I hope, I've helped.

Referidgerator side is not cooling?? Help?

I had this problem. Here's what I found: The cooling core on the freezer side was froze up. Covered in ice. I think the reason this happened was that the freezer door was held open by one of the slide out trays just enough to pull in outside air. Don't know how long it was like this. When I found it (and corrected it) the interior of the freezer was covered in ice crystals. From then on the refer side contents began warming up. There was no flow of cool air to the refer side from the freezer side (this cool air comes in from the freezer side fan near the top left side of the refer side). Freezer side was near zero temp and the unit ran continuously. Here's what I did: Removed everything from both sides (put it all in another fridge/freezer). Turned off (or unpluged) the fridge and left it off over night. I put towels under the fridge because there can be an over flow of water that could go to the floor. It works great again.
