In the middle of cutting a head, the clipper all of a sudden won't turn on when I move the switch to "on." No buzzing or movement at all. The outlet works just fine. Help!!!

The plug is probably not connected to the power cable. Could also be a bad cable or the connection to the clipper.

How can I make that determination? I've opened up the clippers then disconnected and reconnected the 2 wires coming into the clippers. Nothing.

Good start. You have probably eliminated 1/2 of the possible faults. It's probably a bad connection at the plug end of the wire. You could test it with an ohm meter if you had one and know what to do or you could just replace the plug on the other end of the wire. If you have never done that sort of thing, I would find someone that could do it for you since you are working with 115v and it can kill you if you do it wrong.

I wanna know how to fix Andis superliner clippers.mine just simply dont cut anymore??someone please help

If the clippers stopped cutting, they are probably clogged with hair on the inside of the clippers. I had two pairs of clippers where this happened. I took them to be serviced at a beauty supply store and they cleaned the hair from the inside of both pairs of clippers for me and they now work just fine.

If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet,,test the outlet with desk lamp for to see if working. check the electrical cord, and check the thermostat + fuse inside replace if necessary.

My remington straightener won't work properly. HELP?!

Try wiggling the lead where it goes into the straightener and then the plug. If it works it may be a broken cable in the lead

Short in wire - turns on but then shuts off with movement- then on again

THIS HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS A SHORT CIRCUIT OR THE POWER CORD IS DAMAGED.A REPLACEMENT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

I have a Bosch b52l iron, when i turn on the steam button, it cuts off the power, what could it be

It could be the iron itself (it may have a short circuit in it) and the circuit breaker trips when the steam switch is turned on.

Option 1)
Another option is that the entire circuit that that circuit breaker is controlling is overloaded. What other outlets / applicances / lights are disabled when that circuit breaker trips? You may have to iron only when those other applicances on that circuit are not being used.

Option 2a) Your outlet may be damaged and causing your circuit breaker to trip when the high current STEAM setting is set.
- OR -
Option 2b) the circuit breaker is damaged and is tripping too easily. Only replace with a similarly sized circuit breaker (15 amp lis likely but is says right on the breaker).

Try the solutions in that order.

I have a sharp cloths iron that will not heat up

I assume you mean that it will not steam???
TRY
1. Could be it's not getting hot enough?(Thermostat could be set too low)
2. The pipe into the tank is blocked? (try pouring a little boiling water CAREFULLY into the iron filler hole and try that)
3. The outlet jets could be totally blocked? (Buy a de-scaling kit from Wallmart or similar)
Failing that you may have to buy a new one. Wallmart or similar have cheap electrical appliances

Why isn't my Iron heating up? Just finished filling my Krups V65 iron with water. Was ironing linen shirt on linen setting, all of a sudden, heat dropped all the way down to light one (very low heat) and...

I do believe the thermostat is defective. All the iron have a small thermastat top control the temperature and is working like a switch. If the switch don`t work get stuck on the same position.Unfortunatly sometimes is better get a new one themn fix an old one but this is The Market and nothing i can do personally. Also make sure the thermostat knob is working properly. If you hear a click when you turn is ok.
Good Luck

B&D steam xpress 660 faulty switch to replace

I'm not familiar with your particular model , or Irons themselves.
So forgive me if im wrong ,
I think it could be a safety feature , to prevent accidents, so replacing the switch will most likely make no difference.

But if you still find yourself needing to Iron sideways , possibly whilst extreme bungee-jumping or entering the earth's outer atmosphere !! LoL sorry couldn't help myself there , you could try phyically bypassing the switch itself.

There would be two main ways to approach such a task, depending on the cut-out system utilized by the iron.

Electrical diversion

Usually safety cut-out switches will interrupt the power of one polarity only, either positive or negative. especially where water is involved. This is easily bypassed by simply joining the matching 2 wires together either side of the switch to complete the circuit making the safety switch obsolete. There may be other wires for indicator lights ect which are better left alone for now.

Mechanical diversion

The iron may utilize the water or other moving component to interrupt the power supply .Such as a water level indicator in a kettle, which is positioned to activate only when in sideways position. Again you could bypass the wires as above or bind the mechanism to prevent the movement being possible.

If it does use the water method , running the iron with no or low water in it may work...But there's probably a safety feature for that too....LoL

Anyways hope it helps you out a little
