Washer won't start and the door is closed tight

Replace the door lock, takes about 10 mins. Just replaced mine. Ordered it from Amazon for less than 40.00. You take the top off and unscrew the lock from the front. Reach in and pull up, unplug old one, plug in new one. put new one back in the holes, screw it in tight. Put the top back on and your done. Don't forget to unplug it before you start.

Lights come on to operate except door light,the door is locked but no a action on hotpoint wf430

Worn motor brushes can cause this. The door lock is on the same circuit as the motor so if brushes are worn it doesnt know door is locked and therefore wont start. likely just needs new brushes.

My Frigidaire frontload washer (model #LTF7000EG0) wont start because Door luck button comes on saying it won't lock. Please Help??

My guess is that being that the lock is electronic, either the lock is defective or there is a problem in the control board in that it's not telling the lock to lock the door. I would have a tech check the board.

the problem is probaly with the actual door try looking for retailers and see if they will fix the locking mmechnism

My VZ9996U1 built-in dishwasher won't lock &

sounds like the door latch is broken, turn off power to unit and remove in side of door, about 20 screws, at th etop of th edoor you will see the latch it will have several wires going to it, you may even find broken parts (PLASTIC ) you can order parts from here http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ they have very fast shipping you just need all the info on the machine

I have fitted a new door lock on my hotpoint washing machine and it wont lock, and therefore wont start washing

IF YOU HAVE REPLACED THE DOOR LOCK BE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO LOOSE CONNECTIONS OR BURNED WIRES THAT GO TO THE SWITCH. IF THESE ARE OKAY YOUR COULD POSSIBLY HAVE A BROKEN DOOR STRIKE LOCATED ON THE DOOR ITSELF IF THIS IS BROKEN IT WILL NOT ACTIVATE THE SWITCH. I CAN GET THE DOOR STRIKE PART NUMBER, BUT I WOULD REQUIRE A MODEL NUMBER. THE LAST POSSIBLE SOLUTION IS THAT YOUR CONTROL BOARD IS FAULTY THEREFORE NOT ALLOWING IT TO SEND THE PROPER AMPERAGE YOU ACTIVATE THE LOCKING MECHANISM.HOPE THIS HELPS
