Beatriz, I looked through the entire manual, it shows no reverse option. Did you just get the mixer or did you have it repaired. It seams the mixer is either wired wrong or the gears that rotate the mixer were not assembled correctly.
Check the attached link, manual, instruction and guides, Good luck

We have no power out of the hl600 motor control board. whats wrong?

Because of the very high voltage on the output of the Inverter drive, I do not want to be responsible for your injury or death from you servicing this machine without proper training.

The frequency is the same in all gears.
disconnect the power and invert the mixer and remove the planetary after driving out the taper pin, then you can access the transmission. It may be a rotor shaft bearing in the motor or no grease on the worm gears.
Nice touch with the video.

I have a hobart mixer 80 quart .The motor makes a noise and would not start. It only starts if I turn the shaft and turn the on switch at the same time

Most motors of that type have a capacitor that puts the stator out of phase with the rotor. They are capacitor start induction run motors. These also have a centrifugal switch inside near the end ot the shaft to put power to the start winding for a split second to determine the direction of turn and to increase horsepower until it is up to speed. So if it fails to start either the centrifugal switch needs cleaning (or replacement if damaged) or the capacitor needs replacing to give it its original power, or the start winding has failed from overheating. There may be a thermal cutout on the start winding that may need to be replaced if it did overheat. If the start winding burned then the motor would require rewinding or replacement.

Won't Turn On

There could be several problems some painful some not so much, the simplest one is bad wall plug or bad plug wire, the hardest is that the motor burned out, but i don't think so. The most likely solution is the speed control switch. There are three scres on the switch in an inverted triangle shape/form. The one on the bottom has probable been turned just enough to stop your mixer from working. The speed control switch that you use pushes against the screw every time you turn your mixer on eventually it can turn by pressure and it will shut your mixer off with just a 1/16th inch turn. It is a very simple fix.
Where is the speed control switch? Glad you asked. It is in the rear of the machine. There is a round bubble shaped cover at the rear of the mixer called the end cover, it has one screw (Phillips head) on the top. Take that screw out, then grasp the cover and lift up and away from the mixer. Be careful there are two fragile hooks on the cover that can break if you twist it left or right, just lift up and pull away. when you have removed the cover you will see a black and copper plate staring back at you (it might be all dusty with flower and food particles) look for the adjusting screws at the top left and right corners and one at the bottom center of the plate. The one at the bottom center is the culprit. Take a Phillips head screwdriver and turn it left an eighth of a turn and turn the machine on, if it doesn't work leave the machine on and turn the screw in the opposite direction . ill bet a steak that the mixer starts. if it does you need to replace the speed control plate or take the screw out and put some lock tight on it. BUT!!!! when you do this you will have to completely re-tune the speed of the machine. So if it starts just leave it and you may have to do this once or twice again in the next ten or twelve years. Let us know if this fixed the problem. there are several other possible causes that could make the mixer stop but they are more painful.

Hi there, I was doing cake mixing and turn off

If you can hear the motor spinning and the beater does not spin, the worm gear has probably failed. These fail frequently, specially after using them beyond there designed limits. The motor heats up and the gear, which is a type of plastic or nylon, melts.

The ball turns in opposite direction.

You have a 3 phase unit, it can run opposite direction if the main feed wires are not correct for the motor wiring. If you simply swap any two of the main electrical feed wires it will run in the opposite direction. This should correct your problem now. Enjoy.

When you say lag and catch up. This may not be a issue. I have seen this with dough and a spiral hooks on all sizes of Hobarts the hook and dough get in a position to push the hook forward and the drive gears catch back up the hook. in fist gear on the 20 quart this is common for sure. but its normal. if you have a real slip from a sheared key it will not take long to where you can hold the planetary shaft with your hand and stop it. another slip that might be possible is if your mixer has the first generation worm shaft gear Assembly. when it is worn out it will slip you. this is the shaft that drives directly off the motor. you can tell if it's first Gen by it has a large spring on it. the tow later versions are all keyed to the shaft no chance to slip unless a key shears.

Hobart A-200 Motor Direction

No, do not swap hot and N.

First, verify rotation. As the attachment shaft rotates, it should push the engagement pin into the keeper slot. Looking down on top of the mixer, the planetary should rotate clockwise.

If the unit runs backwards, does it start slow? Can you get it to run either way by giving it a push start before turning on the power? If so, your start switch is not working properly. (Which is my guess) Check your capacitor.

There is mechanical and electronic start switches. (Metal arms and a contact or a little gold rectangular metal can.)

Check it out and let me know what you find -- Mike
