To connect your computer to the router, all you should need to do is to connect the cables in one of the numbered ports on the router and then reboot your computer so that it pulls an IP address from the router.
Satelite Internet service vareis greatly from the normal setup required of cable or DSL providers, so perhaps you should contact your internet providers support technicians as those calls are free.
As for the gaming ports; in the menu of your router, you will find the port forwarding option available. Simply enter the ports you use to play those games with and you will be able to open them up for better game playing. Test it a few times to make sure you have the settings right, but it is normally fairly simple and understandable even if you haven't read the manual before.

Try to reduce the MTU on the router's settings. Open the setup page of the router. Launch your browser like IE or Mozilla. Type on the address bar http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter. It will prompt you for username and password. By default, there is no username. On the password field type admin and press enter. Look for MTU under the Setup tab. By default it is on Auto. Set it to Manual and change the MTU size to 1463 (default is 1500). Then click on Save Settings button on the bottom. If it saved it, turn off the router for 30 secs then power it back on. Check your gaming again. Hope this helps.

1. DHCP is enabled by default; there is no need for IP settings in LAN connection.
Open Internet Explorer and write “192.168.1.1” in address bar and press enter.
There must not be any proxy setting in the internet Explorer.

Password by pressing ignore.
4. Next Screen is for wizard setup. Select “Go to Advanced setup” and press Apply
5. Following Screen will appear. Select “Network" on the left.
6. Select “WAN” and “Internet Connection” Tab. After filling the parameters given in the
windows, Press Apply.

Is there any computer connected to the router ?
If not then connect the computer to the router.
Check the Ip address and default gateway number on that computer. Default gateway will be the IP address of the router. You can use this number to open the set up page of the router.
First try to ping the Default gateway number and check if you get replies from that number.
If you get replies from that number then your computer is communicating with the router.
try to open the set up page of the router.
If you are not able to open it then try this.
On a windows computer, go to START. go to RUN and in the run box type http://192.168.1.1 ( consider the default gateway is 192.168.1.1) and check if that prompts you for user name and password.
