Question about Apple iPod shuffle MP3 Player
Is the IPod able to be recognized on the computer? If not, you could try the 5 R's,
You could also try to restore the ipod back to factory defaults and see if that would help

SOURCE: Ipod wont play music / No sound
The clicker noise you hear is separate from the audio output functionality of the iPod. It sounds like an issue with the headphone jack possibly. Try a soft reset by pressing the menu and center buttons at the same time for 5-7 seconds.
If that does not work, then please consider the FREE Diagnostic Testing that we offer through our website. It will cost you virtually nothing to have us diagnose your issue. www.apple.com/itunes/ is where you get the itunes 8 software for free. When you download the itunes software it gathers up all the music off your computer and puts it in your itunes library.
