Try to get an adapter - makes installation much easier. Metra is one such supplier.

SOURCE: install fuel pump on 1996 chevy 1500

Is the fuel pump really bad?

Our son's erstwhile Ford something had a shock sensitive switch that when tripped by a big pothole, shut the (electric) fuel pump off and had to be reset before it would function again.

SOURCE: cd player install in my truck

there are install kits that you can get that have a factory plug on the end that plug directly into your truck and the wires at the other end are color coded the same as the radio so then its a matter of matching colors and taping the wires together
http://www.tune-town.com/wire/1973-87_Chevrolet_Blazer_(Full_Size)_NOVA7016771_CWB7116771.htm
this one is for a 73-87 full size blazer but it also fits full size pickup you didnt say if your truck is full size or not .......if you have an s10 it is also available at that site
hope this helps

SOURCE: WIRING CHANGE FOR 2002 DODGE CARAVAN

Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them, and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

SOURCE: What wiring harness do I need that works 1996 Toyota Tacoma

Hello shonk_patric,

You'll have to go to Kenwood or to the audio dealer where you purchased the receiver if you do not have the harness that plugs into the back of the radio.

One vehicle specific aftermarket harness for a '96 Tacoma is the Metra 70-1761 available here at Crutchfield.

Hope this helps.

You will need to splice the wires as it will be hard to find the right connector to attach to the harness wires. Use the wiring diagram for the car (get it at Alldatadiy.com) and the one that came with the Dual unit to figure out which wires connect to each other.

Trying to put a cd player in a 1988 toyota corolla but is unsure what wires connect to the cd player wires for front speakers?

get the harness, makes things so much easier. try walmart first to see if they have the wire harness, if not your local audio shop will definetly carry it, but at a price. I'm assuming the car has the factory harness as well? if not then it will be pretty time consuming trying to get the wires figured out. in that case the best way is to get a voltage test light to at least get your power wires figured out.

Difficulty wiring into GM harness

well if your trying to actively wire it up with the car battery still connected that is why you are blowing fuses. just a heads up too if you have a live connection while hooking up the cd player you could short out other electrical devices and you could be in alot more trouble thatn just blowing fuses. the black wire is what is blowing fuses its because you have it hooked up wrong to a wire that is sending voltage not recieving voltage. ground the black wire to the actual chassis instead of hooking it to the ground wire from the harness or whatever color its grounded to which shouldnt be anything but black if you have the black wire hooked up to ANYTHING that isnt black that is why you are popping fuses. so hook up the red yellow and make your own ground you shouldnt have any problems after that.
