Have you tried unplugging the TV for a minute and then plugging it back in? This will sometimes reset things to right.

Did you try unplugging it for one minute and then plug it back in and try to turn it on again. Sometimes this will reset the electronics and get things working again.

What is going on when a knocking sound is heard?

My guess is that it is the power supply is starting and then shutting down due to a fault further down the line. This is the way that 'switch mode power supplies' work. The power supply will 'tick' but may sound like a knock through the speaker system when it is trying to start. Not an easy fix I'm afraid.

Panasonic AG-DVC10

There are eight separate parts that make up the DVC10 power switch assembly. Total cost for these is about $48 from Panasonic parts or authorized distributors.

Cameras that do not turn on usually do not require replacement of the switch parts, since the problem is on the main board or power/battery assembly.
