SOURCE: Minka Aire remote controlled ceiling fan

I have a newer Minka w/ wall controller. The books says to make sure both the wall control and the receiver(up in the fan) are both programmed the same. My receiver has no little switches but has a sticker stating that you need to hold the 'fan off' button down for 3 seconds after turning on the power so the receiver can memorize the program in the wall switch. You have 60 sec to do this after power is turned on. Good luck !

SOURCE: The Hampton Bay Altura Ceiling fan functions only with remote.

I contacted the manufacturer (kingofffans.com) after my Altura fan would run on high speed only and the remote would not control any thing. They said their was a manufacturing defect with a capacitor that affected many of the Altura fans. We are now on a waiting list for a new capacitor and housing, because they did not have enough replacement parts.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote problem

You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."

SOURCE: Hampton bay ceiling fan with built-in remote receiver

In case someone else stumbles upon this:
I replaced the remote receiver on one of these fans. jb is right just the top housing that touches the ceiling needs to be removed. Twist it counter clockwise and pull down. You'll see all the wires and the remote receiver. It might not seem like much room to work with, but you can remove the wires and slide the receiver out sideways to replace it or if you can't see the dip switches. Too bad Home Depot is too cheap to even provide instructions when they send you the replacement remove receiver.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote 85095-01 stopped working

it also could be one of the the jumpers fell out of the remote
they are located just above the battery. you will need to match the placement of the jumpers with the receiver mounted in the fan.

Kichler ferron 60" why ceiling fan will only move very slowly remote does not appear to be working

If your Kichler ceiling fan appears to have lost touch with the remote, try the usual routine of removing batteries from the remote, pressing all buttons to eliminate a stuck button as the cause, then reinstalling the old batteries (or new batteries) and testing operation. If no luck, disconnect power at the source, not the fan, pause briefly (to "reset" the fan control) and reconnect power to test operation. If still no luck, the remote receiver in the fan or the remote itself may be defective.

if fault is not on remote , you may need to bring down the ceiling fan and check on stuck electrical contacts and sensors to fix the problem.

Hunter ceiling fan remote will not turn off light it just dims the light

Try this. Remove power from the fan. Remove batteries from the remote. Press butttons on remote (might be stuck). Apply power to the fan. Install batteries in the remote and try all functions. If this doesn't work, the remote may be defective or the remote receiver may be defective. I can tell you from my own experience I have a ceiling fan that loses its mind whenever there is a power outage. Has to be reeducated from scratch

The Receiver for the remote is defective. Try calling the toll-free number listed on the top of the motor housing of the safety label.
