SOURCE: voice mail garbled

I have run into this problem in the past. Power off the telephone system. Power switch is on the top (back) right of the cabinet or you can unplug it from the wall. Be carefull , if your memory battery is bad, you will lose programming on the phones.

cycling power to the system has fixed this in the past for me, if this doesnt work you may have to replace the vm card in the system.

How can I get back the predictive text on my CE0168?

In fact, it is pretty easy to restore lost SMS from CE0168 device as long as you have worked an effective recovery tool. As you know, you can find over hundreds of recovery programs online which have claimed that they can help retrieve lost Android messages. However, most of them are not as effective as they should be. So in order to successfully recover deleted text messages from Android mobile phone, you can't miss this Coolmuster Android Messages Recovery software, which has been generally considered as the best recovery program on the market.
By running this Android Messages Recovery, you are able to preview all deleted SMS messages before restoring. Thus you can selectively mark your deleted messages to recover, as this software can display the whole messages on your CE0168 phone, those existing ones are no exception. In addition, no matter how many messages you have lost and ready to restore, this software allows you to retrieve them in a batch.

A/C blower is on high only

Yes, resistor would have been my first point of attack, too. And it's so-o-o easy to get to. At least now you have some new parts in your ride.
You don't say what year or model your car is, so I'll just take a stab and say if the wiring in your car is factory correct, I think the only thing left to check would be the blower switch. (But if your car is fairly new with some extra computers and control modules that often like to garble messages and spit them out in unknown directions, then all bets are off!!!) Good luck.

How do I get my messages from the answering machine ? What do I need to key in ?

If you are using the handset, press Menu and scroll down to the line Answer Machine with the up/down arrows. Then press the left soft key twice (Select answering machine and then play new messages). The left soft key is above the Talk button. Press End to stop the play back of messages. When there are no new messages, the above will play all messages.

If you want to access the messages from another phone, you first need to change the Master PIN from the one it shipped with and set up remote access. You do this from the handset.
To change the Master PIN, press Menu, scroll to Advanced Set and press the left soft key. Then scroll to change PIN and press the left soft key. Enter the original PIN (or the current PIN) and press the left soft key. Then enter the new PIN followed by pressing the left soft key twice. You will hear a tone and see New PIN Stored on the screen. If you do not enter the correct PIN above, the screen will return to the previous menu. The PIN from the manufacturer is 0000.

For remote access, press Menu, go to Answer Machine and press the left soft key. Then scroll to Ans. Settings and press the left soft key. Scroll to Remote access and press the left soft key. Use the up and down arrows to select Activated then press the left soft key again.

Once these are set, call your phone number and when the machine picks up press #. Within 8 seconds, enter the PIN. An error tone will play if you do not enter the correct code; try again. The unit will hang up if the PIN isn't entered in 8 seconds. All new messages will play. Press 1 to replay a message (or go to the previous message), 2 to play all messages, 3 to advance to the next message, 4 to delete a message.

The manual is available here: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=ID9371B/37&scy=us&slg=en .

I hope this helps.

Garbled incoming message: When one person sends me a text message I receive it as symbols. When I reply she too gets the symbols but says that she did not send it that way. Is there something I can do to...

Hi,

This because she might have sent the message in some other language.Your phone might not support that language.

That is the reason you are getting symbols when you recieve messages.

Thanx

Answering machine replay is garbled

Your handset battery will have no effect on the answering machine audio, providing your regular audio is fine (its fine when you make a phone call right?), I will assume yes. I have seen this problem in these models, and your problem lies in your base station, and the only fix you can attempt is to go into base programming and delete as much as you can out of the memory, greetings, old messages, etc.. Power down, then power back up again. Call in and leave a message. See if it sounds better through the handset or the speaker on the base when you play it back. If its garbled both ways (reviewing through the handset or on the speaker base) , then your problem is in your base memory. If it is just garbled on your handset, then it may be a radio module problem with the base, either way it probably needs to go in for repair. I don't know if Panasonic still repairs that model, but if you google Panasonic cordless telephone repair, you will find someone. Good Luck, CG
