SOURCE: WHERE IS THE FUSE LOCATED

The line fuse for these sets is inside the radio on a printed circuit board. NOTE: for your safety, disconnect the radio from its power source before you open the case and poke around inside. The best way to check the fuse is with an ohm meter, but you can probably check it visually using a strong flashlight. There should be a wire filament running the length of the fuse. If it's intact, so is the fuse. If it's broken or not visible at all, the fuse is "blown" and needs to be replaced. If the fuse checks out ok, the power transformert is likely bad -- a problem that these sets are notorious for. Bose will charge you $100 for the transformer repair (unless the set is still under warranty), and having it done is strictly a matter of personal choice. My choice would be to sell the Bose on eBay as a "tech special" and pick up one of the newer HD radios. They offer much better sound at a much lower price.

SOURCE: Lost Car radio code after removal of battery head

Real easy. Go to the MB dealership, proceed to the parts department give them the VIN of your car(I used my insurance card) ,they type in your VIN, few seconds... they hand you over a post-it w/ your code.

Go to your car punch in the code and make sure you press OK.

Your done ...radio works again.

A picture would help to locate the fuse in Bose radio.

You need to state the model number. If you don't know the number, try looking for a nameplate that has an FCC ID number. Search google with that number, and it will identify the model. Then google the model number and "fuse location".

Following a direct lightning strike to our pole transformer, transformer blown ,, replaced ,, several electronics not working including our Bose Wave Radio (no CD) ... Where can we find repair and how much...

Bose does not release their schematic diagrams or parts lists, so factory maintenance is about the only way to go. You can start the process by visiting www.Bose.com, but be ready for some sticker shock. Before you do anything though, every Bose has a line fuse inside the case. The location varies by model and date of manufacture, but if you open the case it will be simple to locate. Check it, and replace it if necessary. The fuse is there to safeguard electronics against power surges, so it is your likely culprit.

My Bose Wave CD Radio has no power. Will not turn on. dead. Checked the power cord and supply, it is good. Is there an internal fuse?

Yes - although Bose doesn't really publicize the fact, there is an internal line fuse in each Wave. Location varies by model and date of manufacture, but the fuse is easy to spot once you open the radio case.

My Bose Wave Radio/CD Just died with no warning or malfunctions prior, acting like it's not getting any power

Your problem may be as simple as a blown power fuse. Location varies by model, but all of these sets have an internal fuse on one of the circuit boards. SAFETY NOTE: It's obvious to most, but be sure to disconnect the set from power before opening the case.

Power

There's a line fuse on a circuit board inside the radio. CAUTION: disconnect the set from its power source before you open it up or start poking around inside it. If you're lucky, all you will need is a simple fuse replacement. The sets are, however, notorious for "blowing" power transformers. If the fuse is not the problem, you will likely need to send the set to Bose for repair. On their web site, www.bose.com, they offer to repair most Wave sets for $100 or give $200 credit towards the purchase of a new Wave. Before you spend the big bucks though, you might want to check out the new HD radios. Better sound and MUCH lower prices than the Bose.
