SOURCE: How do you turn off the demo mode.

I held down the sel button until demo showed on the screen. Released the sel button. Turned the volume control to left or right until it said Demo Off then hit the select button again.

hold your sel button until it takes you into your menu and use your track skip buttons till you get to DEMO and turn your volume knob to the left until it says off and then press select again to get out of your menu. :)

How to disable the demonstration (DEMO) mode.
Article ID: 42707 ' Last Updated: 03/11/2014
Sony® stereo systems will enter the DEMO mode the first time you power on the system or if you do not operate the unit shortly after turning on the power to the system.
To disable the DEMO mode, while the stereo system is powered off, press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears.
NOTES:
  • Depending on your model, some units have a DEMO button that is used to disable the demonstration mode. If your unit has this button, with the power to the system off, press the DEMO button until the display disappears.
  • If applicable to your unit, setting the clock on your stereo system will also disable the DEMO mode.
  • Using the buttons on a supplied remote control will not disable the demonstration mode.
If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals, Specifications and Warranty information for your Sony product is available online.

How do you turmoil off demo mode?

Please provide the Make & Model # of your stereo.

Typically you will need to access the setup or function menu of your stereo. Some stereos you do this by pressing and holding the MENU button or Volume Knob for 3 seconds. Then scroll through the menu to find Demo mode and turn it off.

Your owners manual should have instructions on how to do this.

Sony XPLOD CDX-GT200 CD Player keeps going back to demo mode

This is happeneing because the stereo does not have a battery power connections. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volt connection. This connection is for the stereo's memory.

How to set the color on my faceplate. It contnues to change color

You're stuck in DEMO mode. When you see stereo's on display at a store it is set to a DEMO mode that cycles through colors, functions, etc so that potential customers can see the different aspects of the unit. To get it to stop changing colors you'll have to go into the menu and turn DEMO OFF.

Turns itself on

Hey there, you actually need to press the Stop /-DEMO Button when the device is doing the demo mode...it will take about 8 seconds and it will display "DEMO OFF" and turn off. This procedure needs to be run everytime there is a power failure OR you unplug it from the wall.
Pressing the Stop /-DEMO while it is on will cause it to start the demo while it is running!
