SOURCE: bac speaker bose 321

The arrays from this system are only designed to run with the Bose Acoustimass / subwoofer, which in turn will only work with the Bose DVD player. If you use them directly to an amplifier, they'll sound poor / wierd and you probably blow the drivers. You might even damage your amp.

Each speaker has 2 drivers firing in slightly different directions. The idea is (when its used with the 321 system), the inward speakers give a mix of front and centre, the outer drivers give a mix of front and rear. A normal amp won't do this....

This is an amp problem but you also need to confirm that there are no burnt wires and cut fuses.

SOURCE: missing power cable for Bose Sounddock

Repair may the only solution. The new power supply is only slightly different though.. If you don't want to spent the $100 to repair this, you could get the new supply and carve a notch in the top part of the square power input.. Looking at the new power supply, the top is a bit taller and arched but the same specs..
But the new power supply is still expensive. (I think $60+) So for an additional $40 ($100 total) you can get a new supply retrofitted on to the old input. It's worth it- you get a new 1 year warranty, and they put the new Apple dock connector on there (USB charge pin) as well as the power supply, so you can use current iPods as well as old. (Your SD currently won't support- iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 2ng gen, or iPod Nano 4th gen.. it will after a repair)

The power supply of my Bose sounddock series 1 stopped working and the price of a replacement is too high, Can I change the 4 pins connector to a regular 2 pin connector in the sounddock. (I know that the...

You cannot use a two pin connector as there are three lines, +18, -18 and ground. While you can connect the two ground lines together, you still need to accommodate the split power rails.

The easiest way would be to fit a 3 pin mini-din plug. However, you are going to be looking long and hard to find a replacement power supply on tevshelf that can produce the two rail voltages required at a suitable current.

In the interest of protecting your dock from damage, and given the amount of work required to make the change, you are far better to bite the bullet and purchase a replacement supply from Bose.

Of course, you may be able to source a Chinese clone supply from China on the eBay website - perhaps worth a look... :o)

Logitech z3 wiring

I have a logitech z3 subwoofer with a mini-DIN-9 connector socket. It also has a volume control and 110V power cord. As best as i could trace the circuit, and using the TDA7377 stereo bridge amplifier chip datasheet, the pinout for the mini-DIN is as follows (untested):
1: L in (to vol.)
2: R in (to vol.)
3: Power (12V from transformer)
4: Standby (5V to play, 0.05mA; 0V to standby)
5: L out
6: R out
7: Ground
8: Ground
9: Ground

Connecting 3 to 4 with a large resistance (~20K ohms) should enable speaker. Pins 1 and 2 might be swapped; pins 5 and 8 might be swapped. Mini-DIN socket pin holes are numbered right to left, bottom row to top row:
9 8 7
6 5 4 3
2 1

New to the mixer world. i have a dicontinued pmp5000. can't get the bridge mode to work

You require a special cable with the Speakon copnnector wired a special way. Refer to your user manual for the correct pin connections to use bridged mode and then put the slide switch in the position closest to the effects display.

Refer to figure 4.6 on page 10 and figure 4.7 showing the connection for bridge mode.

NOTE: you cannot go below 8 ohm speaker on the bridge mode... that USUALLY means a singl speaker of 8 ohms... you CANNOT parallel two 8 ohm speakers.

The single speaker cable will plug into the "B" output connector. Remember bothe the barrel and the tip of the connector if using 1/4 inch plugs is HOT and grounding either inadvertently will fry the amp.

I need to know which pin is the live and neutral for a behringer dx 1000 pro mixer

On the power line cord the neutral usually has a wider blade. Also the cord MAY have ribs on the side of the neutral conductor. The polarity of this cord is NOT important to the operation... the power supply does NOT care.

If you are asking about the cord that goes from the power supply to the mixer, then we need to talk further. This three wire connector has a ground and two 19 VAC hots. Describing the pins in the triangular pattern would be risky... HOWEVER you can use an ohmeter to find the single ground by looking for near zero ohms on one and only pins of the mixer to a ground on one of the 1/4 inch jacks. The dual 19 VAC power supply is rated at 1.5 Amps (1500ma) for each of the 19 VAC outs.
Note these 19 Volt hots come from either side of a 38 volt centertapped transformer with the centertap to the ground.

JVC 8 pin pinout - speaker cable

Looking at the connector, there are 3 rows of pins.
Starting with the first row closest to the alignment mark:
[Power On],[Center Speaker],[Sub Woofer]
[Surround Right],[Speaker Ground],[Surround Left]
[Right],[Left]

If you are trying to connect two JVC units, you will need an 8-pin cable that has the SAME pins connected on each side. You will need to test this using a multimeter set to ohms or 'connectivity'.
There are other 8-pin cables out there like the one for apple networking, but they use a crossover pinout where pin 1 on one end = pin 3 on the other end. This is bad. JVC needs pin 1 to = pin 1.

This is a standard connector/pinout setup that JVC uses, so connecting a TH-C3 to a TH-C50 works fine. There is a bunch of intermixing that you can get away with. The only thing to keep an eye on is the power in watts that one unit sends and the other recieves. Worst case is that the speakers are quiter than expected or that you can turn the volume up so high that it can damage the speakers. In all cases, you should get desired volume somewhere on the dial.

If you are trying to wire the speaker set custom, then you will need to take note that an '8-pin' connector is actually a 9-wire connector. Along with the above pinout, you will need to add Case Ground, which is the metal circle that surrounds the pins. To make the speakers turn on, you will need to apply 12v to the Power On pin and ground the 12v source to the Case Ground outer ring.
The system takes 3 to 4 seconds to fully turn on after this connection is made. Speakers should be wired using the center pin for speaker ground and each other pin respectful to each speaker.

No audio

Try to be more specific, but I will say that if one of your speakers is grounded out and/or blown, it will shut off the internal audio of that deck for all 4 speakers. Try disconnecting speakers one by one and turning the car on and off until you figure out which one it is. Also, what year/make/model car is it? Does it have bose? you may need to power up an additional wire to get it to play. Let me know, be as specific as possible.
