SOURCE: Carrier thermostat

I hate to say it but Ive had trouble with Carrier's Tstats doing similar improper things. Unfortunatly the only repair is going to be replacement of the whole tstat. I recommend Honeywell's FocusPRO or VisionPRO tstat. Ive yet to have one fail and they have a 5yr warranty if they ever do.

SOURCE: AC breaker trips after 10 minutes

Whats the amp breaker? Is this for the inside unit or the outside condenser? If the inside and gas heat you have a bad fan motor, If its an electric furnace , the same, but if its the outside unit, the fan could be going bad, locking up and the compressor still runs and pulls high ampsand tripps breaker or the compressor is just pulling too many amps due to plugged coils with dirt , grass or weeds blocking airflow.(

SOURCE: Amana 1 ton Residential AC / Outside unit comes on for a sec

open the service panel to check for control voltage of 24volts when tstat calling, The contactor should be pulled in, if contactor is down, and contacts appear to be clean, and the unit is still not running, it is a bad compressor. to test this unplug the black wire from the compressoror at contactor,w/ power off! Turn on power if fan works normally it's a bad compressor. However if you see a swollen split cap(5 wires to a soup can looking w/ the terminal C,F,and Comp), switch it first and start at square one.
You also need to consider the high pressure switch if its cycling on off on off.

SOURCE: Ruud AC fan won't shut off

it sounds like this is an electromechanical system, (no circuit board) verify that you wired the normally open switch at the fan limit control to the low speed fan, to the normally closed on the relay..(series circuit) if either of these are wrong the fan will runn all the time

Nothing is happening when we use the thermostat on a Dometic ac unit. It is in a 2016 Forest River 5th wheel that we bought used, no Manuel’s came with it.

The wall thermostat is not the "Switch" that operates the A/C unit; it carries a very small current at low voltage to operate the contactor, to powers up the compressor. The contactor makes a clicking sound as it closes and the compressor should start immediately. If the contactor clicks closed and the compressor does not start, that will require a professional to do further diagnose. Working with 120 AC voltage is dangerous and should not be attempted without the necessary knowledge. However, it is safe enough to fool around with the thermostat, but stay away from the other electrical circuits An ordinary house Honeywell thermostat that is available a Home Depot will work in an RV and is a lot cheaper than the original RV unit. A house thermostat operates on 24vac but some RV's operate on 12DC. The thermostat really does not care, because it only relays continuity to the A/C contactor and does not carry the amperage load. You should avoid getting a house thermostat that has a little glass bulb with some silver liquid inside. (Mercury), because the level and movement of the RV can negatively affect the temperature setting
