My accents G4 external siren is making a noise like a bull frog. The noise is intermittent - I thought it might need a new battery but

All external sirens, if fitted correctly, have a backup battery by default. If not the installation does not comply to British Standards.
I would have said the battery is low as well.
Check the wiring and sensors.

I need to replace my 1987 approx. Chef wall oven Balmain fan forced and grill. Does anyone know the cut out dimensions. I want to buy anew oven that will fit the existing opening. Thanks

when you buy the ovens replacement
instructions are given in the paper work how to adjust the cavity to suit

there will have to be an air gap on back and sides of the new oven

you should call an electrician to wire in the new oven
to check , even replace the 1987 wiring and connections
if needed to meet the 2016 house wiring standards

you will need
tape measure
pencils
a square
straight edge
reversible hand drill and bits
two levels .... for inside the cavity to level oven
approx a 15 inch .one 6 inch
a hand saw or circular saw
, i found a jigsaw helpful

self tapping screws different lengths
as per the oven fitting requirements
you can use any paint to finish the job

white board or MDF board is ok

some extras strips of timber to level the new oven
maybe required

if imperial was used for the cavity of the old oven
metric might be for the new oven

some DIY about wall oven installs are found on youtube

The systems is working fine and no indications or warnings on the panels, but you can hear the siren at a low sound at all times. All the zones are working according to the panel and alarm monitoring...

The siren should not receive any power when in idle mode (non alarmed state). If you hear any noise, it receives some kind of low voltage. Is it powered straight from the panel or with external power supply and aux. relay? In any way - use a volt meter and measure across the sirens power terminals. If you have any voltage present check the source.

Siren is going off and I don't know how to stop it. It was installed about 9 years ago and installer went out of business. I think it is wired separately from the security panel. We are clear across...

Time to install another alarm system.Go to the power source just disconnect the battery power source,if the control panel don't acept the codes or respone to the codes anymore. If the alarm keep going off the police come out more than one, they'll give a ticket every other times they have to show up to check around.

I have a Ge Simon Xt Alarm and i want to hook up a external siren(part 13-950)I received a 4.7 resister with the siren and 50 ft of wire. How do you attach the resister between the red and black wire?Do...

Wire nuts are ok if the siren is indoors. Gel filled connectors are better if you are mounting the siren outside because they keep the connection from corroding. The resistor needs to go between the two wires you are hooking up. The color of the wires you will are are generally red and black. If your siren has a yellow wire, you can use it instead of the red to get constant siren instead of the "whoop, whoop, whoop" sound that sirens usually make. Putting the resistor at the siren will make sure that it is supervised. That means that if someone cuts the wire going to the siren, it will alert you at the panel. If you put the resistor at the panel, nothing will happen if the wire is cut.

Ademco-749 speaker how to install

There are 4 wires on the 749. Two white and two black. The two black wires connect to the bell or siren output of your alarm panel. The 649 needs 6 to 12VDC to work. The two white wires are for a built in tamper switch that can be connected to a zone on your panel if you want.

Hope this helps

Help with wireless window security alarm

"Zone not ready" indicates the windows sensors are not seeing the magnet piece to indicate the window is closed. Are your sensors built into the window jams or are they external wires you can see?

If you have external wires, look for broken wires or broken/missing magnetic bars.

Did the painters paint the window jams? If so, they may have painted over a sensor, though paint usually does not affect the functionality of a magnetic sensor.

Look for the broken wires or broken/missing magnets.

Also - you should be able to bypass the window zones and set the alarm. Instructions for bypassing a zone should be on the alarm head or available online.
