Question about Hardware & Accessories

I have a TH115 thermostat connected up to under tile heat mat. The panel seems to be functioning ok, but it's not heating the floor. Why would this be?

Have cleared the programme information and am using it on manual override just to try and get it to work! But still no joy. Have set the temperature to it’s highest setting Can you shed some light as to why it's not working pleaSe?

SOURCE: thermostat not firing central heating

the stat works using a bi metalic strip so that click you here is making a contact and telling the boiler to call for heating so if you getting no click you need a new room stat. Replace with same model and note the wiring most stats only use 2/3 wires depending on system

Hi Ya
I have the same oven with the same problem.
To resolve the problem you will need to replace thermal switch, which can be found at the rear of the cooker behind the protective cover. Approx at the bottom left corner. It looks like the shape of an eye with to wires. Hope this helps. Kevin Reseigh

If the boiler is working fine for the rest of the house, you may want to check the thermostat for the living room or the water zone valve for the living room, you should call a heating expert to find out why living room is cold.

Override thermostat temperature setting on ge rak1481d

To override the temperature limits, simply remove the thermostat cover, and then carefully replace it again, making sure the pins line up correctly. That's it! You can now set the thermostat as low as 60° and turn fan to "On."

I hope I am stating my problem clearly: I just purchased a Woods 59377 indoor timer that I'm about ready to return to the place I purchased it because of the manual override button. What I didn't...

I have 59377 timer in my office.
Here is copy of manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Woods-59377.pdf

What job do want the timer to do?
It sounds like you want a programmable timer at night, and simple on-off switch at day.
Add a comment if answer below misses the mark.

YES, the manual override can be used as on-off switch.
Press manual override until Manual ON or Manual OFF display.

The manual override button has 4 states:
Auto ON, turns lamp ON immediately and programming resumes at next set time.
Auto OFF, turns lamp OFF immediately and programming resumes at next set time.
Manual ON to choose permanent ON.
Manual OFF to choose permanently OFF.

How do I set the temporary or permanent override feature on the Honeywell RTH2310B model thermostat?

To set the temporary override, press arrows up or down to desired temp. This will keep temperature
at temporary setting for 2 hours then return to programming. To permanent override press MODE button until schedule period number disappears (number inside little house on stat). Then adjust temp with arrows. Press the MODE button again to cancel override and return to programmable.

How do you reset the unit so it is no longer on program mode

From the Operating Manual: Manual Operation for Non-Programmable Thermostats Press the SYSTEM button to select Heat or Cool and use the [Up] or [Down] buttons to adjust the temperature to your desired setting. After selecting your desired settings you can also press the SYSTEM button to select AUTO to allow the thermostat to automatically change between Heat and Cool. Manual Operation (Bypassing the Program) Programmable Thermostats Press the [Up] or [Down] buttons and adjust the temperature wherever you like. Then press HOLD. This will override the program. The HOLD feature bypasses the program and allows you to adjust the temperature manually, as needed. Whatever temperature you set in HOLD will be maintained 24 hours a day, until you manually change the temperature or press RUN to cancel HOLD and resume the programmed schedule. ____________________________________________________ *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. Installed several GE smart digital timers around the house: for lights over garage, front door, court yard. They are model 15086. The units work in timer mode as desired. I would think...

15086 timer:
Pressing door will override timer setting and manually turn switch ON-OFF.
Press door or open timer door, and press any of 4 buttons located in corners.
You know information posted so far:

However, you are moving the small switch from Timer to OFF.
And when switch is OFF, the override does not work because circuit is OFF.
You want a timer that can switch programming OFF, and not switch circuit OFF, so that device toggles between timer and ordinary switch.

Looking at timers on the market today, I cannot think of any in-wall programmable or box timer that does what you want. Each has manual override that reverses timer function, but when you set timer to OFF, the circuit is OFF.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Programmable.html#Aube

Plug-in-type timers have override button that turns programming off, and then you can operate table lamp normally with the lamp switch. But in that case, the lamp has separate switch that operates outside of timer functions.

GE 15070 24-hour mechanical timer could do what you want:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/GE-15070-mechanical-timer.jpg
In this specific case, when you wanted to operate timer like a light switch, you would move all the pins inward, and then use the on-off switch. The problem with this idea is the pins are tiny, and you need very good eyes or a light-source and small tool to continually adjust pins.

See GE timers and manuals:

I reset my hunter thermostate and now its showing Celcius instade of Ferienheit temperatures, how can I change it back?

Press and hold for about 1 second to enter Manual Override mode. When display flashes, you can release the key. ■ Press again to change to your desired Set Temperature. Hold the key for 2 seconds to fast-advance the Set Temperature. ■ Press to return to normal mode, or wait 5 seconds for it to return automatically. ■ The current program number will flash to signify the Temporary Override. ■ At the next program change time, the Temporary Override is cancelled, and the next program temperature becomes the setpoint temperature. To end the Temporary Manual Override: ■ Press and wait for HOLD to display on the LCD. ■ Press again. This will return the set temperature to the current program set temperature.

Honeywell programmable thermostat

It sounds like you might have the same problem that we have. I read the manual and it says that thermostat has a special lock to prevent tampering. It could be locked. If you override it only last a while and goes back to its original settings. The manual says you need to contact the person who installed it. In our case the person who was in charge when when we had it installed is no longer with the company. We don't know who installed it.
