SOURCE: intermatic t10004 control panel trips the circuit breaker

That circuit breaker is letting you know that you've got a problem in the electrical wiring.... What's next is to turn the power off to BOTH legs of the breaker.
Begin by physically inspecting all the connections in the timer box, and at the breaker and all the way to the pump motor. Make sure all connections are dry, and there's no water in any of the conduits...this will cause a short circuit and trip the breaker. If there's any bare power leg wires touching a grounding point , this can cause the breaker to trip. Lastly check the motor on the pump; on the motor end, there should be a cap you can remove and use a crescent wrench to make sure the motor shaft is moving freely. It could be jammed with debris....this happens around my pool often because I'm surrounded by trees with needles. If the motor cannot turn freely, this will cause the breaker to blow... I'm pretty sure that your timer isn't the issue... Please let me know what you find out.

SOURCE: intermatic outdoor timer T8845Pv won't come on

My first thought would be to make sure that there is power to the timer, 120 volts. Then I would check the wiring for the lights. then I would check the output of the timer with a voltage meter looking for the 24 volts.

SOURCE: New intermatic T101 timer problem - timer is not

Manual override lever is good overall test of T101 120Volt timer.
T101 timer has 3 terminals: A 1 2

See wiring diagram on following link:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T101

Electricians test, they don't guess.
So test your wire:
Separate all wires for testing.
Use ordinary 2 prong tester.
Tape wood sticks to tester leads to keep hands away from power.
Stand on dry boards. Do not hold or touch anything metal.
Turn power ON.
Test each wire to bare ground wire.
Tester lights up on Hot wire. 120V circuit has only 1 Hot wire. If you have 2 Hot wires, you might have 240Volt circuit and need T104 timer. If circuit has 1 Hot wire, then that Hot wire must connect to terminal 1.
If you have NO Hot wire, then check circuit breaker.
Hot wire is identified.
Now test Hot wire to all other wires, except bare ground wire.
Tester lights up on Neutral wire. Neutral wire must connect to terminal A.
If you have NO Neutral wire, then additional wiring is needed, or circuit needs further testing to see what type of wiring you are working with.
Bare ground wires connect to green ground screw.

Notice there are small white wires also connected to terminals A and 1. These small white wires power the 120V clock motor. With Hot on terminal 1 and Neutral on terminal A, the clock motor will run, and yellow dial will rotate.

If timer dial does not rotate after connecting Hot ans Neutral, then test voltage across Hot and Neutral to make sure it reads 120V.

Your circuit should have 2 wires remaining.
These wires go to 120Volt load (fan, light, motor)
Connect these two wires to terminals A and 2.
Try manual override.
If Load turns ON-OFF, then timer is wired correctly.
If Load does NOT turn ON-OFF, then reverse Load wires on terminals A and 2.

Add a comment any time.

How do I connect my Jandy AE-TI heat pump to my intermatic T104P3

1) Copy following link for wiring illustration ... assuming timer is supposed to control pool pump:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/T104-to-contactor.jpg

2) T104P is 240Volt (208-277V) SPDT timer in P plastic outdoor enclosure.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T104

3) Jandy AE-TI is 208/230V pool heater.
http://www.bestbuypoolsupply.com/media/aemanual.pdf

4) Page 13 of Jandy manual shows single-phase residential wiring diagram.

5) First of all, power to main contactor is not interruped by timer, since this powers 24Volt transformer that controls the chip board and general operation.

6) The timer is connected to 'Auto-heat contactor.'
The confusion is what Load connects to this contactor? The water pump? Load is shown on diagram as 'pump time clock.'
I assume the load is the PUMP??

I am programming the intermatic ET70215C to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. The two switches led lights come on time but not load is switching. I tried resetting the device and replacing the battery...

If indicator lights turn ON-OFF on schedule, then timer is programmed correctly.
Timer default voltage is 120Volt. Page 29 of manual shows how to change voltage.
Load rating is max 20amps.
This timer is not made for heavy amp loads, but instead is made to control a contactor for switching heavy loads. Add a comment for more information about contactors.

1) Are timer relays clicking on and off?
Test for voltage across terminals when indicator shows.
Check that load is operational.
Following link shows typical 120Volt wiring
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Intermatic-et70215cr-wiring-900.jpg

2) Terminals 3 thru 8 are dry and receive no power when wires from breaker box connect to terminals 1 and 2. Jumper from terminal 2 is needed to put power to timer circuits.

3) Only copper wire and no insulation can be under terminal screw plate. Two wires under same screw plate have to be same gauge and type, so mixing stranded wire and solid copper wire will cause loose connections.

4) This is 2-channel timer, so both relay circuits can be programmed independently: If programming is set for relay 2, but wires are connected to relay 1, then programming will not work.

5) Programming difficulty: Usually last step troubleshoot is replace battery and then reset timer after battery replacement.
Press and hold clear key and then press reset momentarily
Keep holding clear button until 'reset' displays.

Typical manual is 39 pages long. Add a comment about specific part of manual that is not clear, for possible help.

6) Contact Intermatic if timer is defective:
Replacement parts and circuit boards are available for some timers.

I would like to know what wattage can the SS8 series handle??

Intermatic SS8 Instruction Manual says:
The timer can control incandescent lights, fluorescent lights, flood lights (PAR lamps), stereos, or appliances such as an air conditioner. The timer can also control many loads 12 to 277 VAC and 12 to 28 Volts DC.

Intermatic Load rating pdf shows SS5 at 500Watts and no HP rating.
Load rating pdf shows SS7 and SS20 rated for 15Amp, 120V-1HP, 240V-2HP.
Load rating does not show SS8, but since SS8 manual shows 'appliances and air conditioner,' and same load parameters shown for SS7, then Amp and HP rating would have to be same-similar to SS7.

I can't download the instruction manual from Intermatic's website. I have a EJ500C timer and want to know why they caution against using it with CFL's and how to program it to shut off...

EJ500 7-day or astronomic timer is incandescent light bulb timer.
Different timers have different Load ratings.
Intermatic ST01C timer can control CFLs.
Aube timers have same wiring capability as Intermatic, and offer CLF control, but you have to choose either astronomic timer, or 7-day timer.

Using manual switch should operate load, no matter what the clock dial is doing.
If manual override is not working, AND clock motor is not working, then power supply from breaker box is suspect.
T103 has 120Volt clock motor, but timer can control 240Volt loads.
Test for 120Volts across terminals A and 1
Test for 120V from terminal 1 and ground wire.

My intermatic pool tmer will not set time or let me auto. turn to on so I can't filter or backwash pool

Problem points to electric power.

1) For best possible free answer, please add a comment and give model number that shows inside timer door.
This will give expert access exact manual for the equipment you have, and show what voltage you are working with.

2) You can also review Intermatic pool timer sell sheet, and pool timer site to help identify product:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Pool-and-spa-catalog.pdf
http://www.poolandspacontrols.com/products.aspx

3) If you have mechanical dial timer, see if manual override works.
And then check electric power.
Check circuit breaker.
Check if manual override works.

4) If you have P1353 digital electronic timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/P1353ME-digital-time-clock-mechanism.jpg
P1353 digital electronic timers have auto setting.
Check programming.
Programming for P1353 is complicated, and longer than space allowed for free answer.

Intermatic PF 1102 digital timer with freeze control; Timer will switch from off to on to auto, but when switching to "on' the pump will not turn on. There is a "click" that indicates to...

The freeze control is wired parallel with timer, so both controls can turn Load ON-OFF.
So Load turns ON when either the freeze-control or the timer turns ON.
When both are ON, then Load will be ON.
Freeze control can be ON and timer OFF and Load is ON
Freeze control can be OFF and timer ON and Load is ON.
Only when both Freeze control and timer are OFF, will Load be OFF.

If pump is not turning ON below 32 (or the protection set point), then freeze control thermostat is suspect.
But you need to check if pump turns ON when timer turns ON.
If pump operates with timer, then freeze control is main suspect, unless there is a loose wire.
Open box and check for loose and burned connections.
If pump does not operate with either timer or freeze control, then check for loose wires and also check your circuit breaker and check that pump is operable.

To find replacement freeze control, Google search: Intermatic freeze protection thermostat

HOW DO I CONNECT TO POWER SUPPLY? WHERE DO THE WIRES GO?

You posted under Intermatic EI210 countdown timer.
To confirm this is your product, open link below:
http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-EI210-Electronic-Countdown-Minutes/dp/B001EE1J74
Manual with operation instructions appear on link below
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/ei220w%20-%20english.ashx

EI210 replaces single-pole switch only.
Single pole switch is where 1 switch controls the Load (light, fan, motor)

To wire this timer:
1) Single-pole switch has 2 insulated wires and 1 bare ground wire.
2) Connect insulated switch wires to timer red wire and timer black wire, in either order for now.
3) Connect timer green wire to bare ground wire.
4) In back of electric box are white wire that are twisted together and covered with wire nut. Connect timer white wire to these wires. This will power electronics located inside the timer.
5) If electric box does not have white wires described above, then connect timer white wire to bare ground wire along with green wire.
6) Turn power ON. Press oval button. If indicator light turns ON, then timer is wired correctly. If indicator light does not come on, then reverse timer black wire and timer red wire.

Where can I get a wiring diagram for the intermatic t1975

Intermatic t1975 manual

Programming:
Depress trippers to turn on load
First tripper turns on timer for 16-20 minutes.
Each additional tripper lengthens time by 15 minutes
So if you want timer ON for 2 hours, you depress 8 successive trippers
Leave tripper up for OFF times
See manual for day-skipper details
Wiring:
T1975 has 120V clock motor
The load voltage is the same 120V
Timer can control 2 separate loads with SPDT
1) NO normally open pole (no electricity flows until timer turns ON)
2) NC normally closed pole (electricity always flows until timer turns ON)
This timer cannot control 240V load
